Keres is a pretty good ship, especially at region gates.
I see it being used allot. Its even asked for in some small fleets,

Oneiros isnt as bad as everyone claims it is.
Especially if there is allot of ECM on the field which messes up cap chains an oneiros is a godsend

ok, we see ... some of the named ships are in fact in active usage.

"no one" or "all" is a dangerous statement. They fail in most cases before the statement even has been posted.
People are different, tactics are different, goals are different, priorities are different.

Solution: Ignore the ships you personally do not need. Maybe other need them.

Ships are tools to be used to fulfill an desired end. In that sense every ship has its place in EVE.

Never rush to deride what you do not fully comprehend friend. Just becuase you cannot see it does not mean it is not there.

Not to mention 'Best' is a very relative term in this game. It is not the boat as much as how you fit it.

Astarte - see these in incursions
eos - do see some of them but not much, usually just being a random booster when people dont train amarr.
Onieros - I see these in incursions and low sec roams all the time.
phobos- see plenty of those
deimos - see these in lowsec and incursions a lot
catalyst - see these ganking a lot.

Why Can't I have a picture signature.

Also please support graphical immersion, bring back the art that brought people to EvE online originaly.

Arty bellicose actually makes for a decent and extremely cheap L2 grinder.

The question really is though, does it matter those lower tier frigates and cruisers are never used past the initial week or two of a new character's life?

Noooo! Don't take away my BellicoseSad I have one in my hanger for ship spinning and the odd trip out.

Hmm, my mining alt would shiver at the thought of losing the Scythe as this was the second rung in her mining ship progression and she still uses it for light PvE. It is actually quite an adaptable little ship.

One mans meat is another mans viagra. I agree with the OP to many ships in eve that are rearly used now so much so they can be labeld as useless.

I own a Navy Osprey the info claims it to be a fast ship well thats just a load of old tosh, I've seen faster Drakes. Lol

Just because you use a certain (rearly seen offten very cheap) ship as being rather disposable don't mean it has worth in general game play. All that means is you have found a way to exploit your pvp style by making it alot cheaper when in a fleet. The fact that you expose your fleet mates to more danger by using these oft pathetic cheap alternitives don't make that a good thing to do.

As I said I own a Cal Navy Osprey, but that don't mean I vaule it above a run of the mill Osprey for the the run of the mill shop bought Osprey has alot more value. So ya for me the Navy Osprey is a waste of time. The OP is right and his list has some merit to it. IMHOCool

The Zephyr has one very important role:

Because the sleepers will not shoot it, it's a great platform for retrieve loot from sleeper kills and then looting your own wreck(s) if you over-estimated your chances for being able to complete that anomaly ;)

The way only to compare the usefulness of all these ships is by comparison of ships within their respective tiers.

While the Phobos may be a crappy HIC, it would pound a Bellicose into dust. So, your list is somewhat inaccurate.

CCP has the exact stats about what ship is used or not.

so, if they already know, why don't they fix them?

the answer is simple: why remove something that doesn't change anything in the game...

Why phobos? It's good as any hic... I can't see less of them than others. It's just gallente that's why people don't use it.

Oneiros - can't agree here. It's almost as good as the guardian and you don't need that stupid cap chain to make it work. Really good for small gangs. And I've -never- lost one although I love to fly them once in a while.

Keres - quite funny on gate camps - if you speedtank with it and got the 3300 scan res it's awesome way of catching enemies passing threw the gate. And mind that 3300 scan res is acchievable without any RSB. I did lose a couple and I still think they are far better than interceptors for catching enemy ships on gates.

The rest - I can only really agree on the FW cruisers... I don't think I've ever seen one either pveing or pvping... There must be something terribly wrong with them.
