Not really, it's just harder for newer players to compete. The industry changes are helping to address that and put all players on a more equal footing.

Well, yes I agree to some extent and I know what you mean. But it is just a general feeling, do not really know how to explain that. When you come to play game that is still is Beta for example, the whole world is still new and everyone is on the same level. Something like that, not sure if I can make myself clear on this, it is just a general 'feel' in the game

So in other words you don't want to exert effort to compete with other players who made the effort to be better in the same game as you are?

When did I say that? I said that i like to start games at the same level with other players, not come into the game when everyone has already played for 5 years, have numerous skills, etc. But most of all it is the market, everything you can think of had already been invented and mass produced. Just not very interesting to play to be honest.

OK you don't _get_ EVE do you?

A private server of EVE would be terrible as the stories that EVE is about wouldn't exist. The economy wouldn't existence (the bit you like - building stuff).

Your other arguments just don't stand up to scrutiny because you don't actually know what makes EVE tick.

That's like real life you know. The moment you were born somebody already solved this and that. It's not like everyone has to reinvent the wheel and be at the stone age the moment you were born.

Remember what CCP said "EVE is real".

Competition is the fun part. What you want is a single player game you can restart any time you want.

I guess i have already answered that in my previous post, but why do you always assume it would be bad? I personally would never give anyone any advantages including myself if I owned a private one. Just because the game loses all interest with cheating. Well, for me at least. And there are many people who feel the same way. Those who want most advantages to themselves are usually kids 13-15 years old. At least it is what i see in the other games i am playing.

Well it's a moot subject anyway. Someone tried and they were shut down. CCP won't allow it and as basically an indie dev company (a large one anyway) they shouldn't allow it, and they don't.

Well eve is really the same as every other game around. And i am not saying that everyone have to move en masse to a private server. The official server will continue as it is with little change I guess, so do not know how it concerns the story you mentioned. And yes, economy would exist as long as there are at least several players there.

So I guess dying in WoW means you permanently lose some of your equipment and the remaining ones can be looted by other players for theirs to keep forever until it gets destroyed? Show me another MMO that is more that 10 years old that actually functions like EVE?

Market is always a competition, it doesn't exist otherwise.
Haven't heard about Star Citizen, is it a new game?

Not sure I understand that part. I mean those private servers are not illegal, they are all approved by the company creators. And I am playing Rust now, which i believe is a really small company if I am not mistaken.
But as I said, I do not want to argue if it is bad or good. It may be good for some people, but anyway if CCP will ever consider this I would get a private server if not then not. What is there to say.

Thanks. Do not agree with the part about 'as it should be' though, but anyway.

No, it's bad business. CCP isn't some huge AAA developer that can just absorb the revenue loss, just a little loss would hurt development enough to be noticed. Go take that player server attitude to WoW player servers ------------------->
(or player servers for dead games, those are ok imo - apart from their often toxic communities)

I never played WOW, but people here mention it so often that I may try one day. RE loss, I do not see any losses to the games that offer that option. On the other hand, all those who cancel their accounts atm may be interested to continue subscriptions with that option.
But I am not much on the technical stuff, so maybe it is a problem with that in eve. Anyway, sorry to hear it is not available here.

Stay away from WoW, game died at the end of the Wrath expansion. Peak was Burning Crusade. That game will soon be Hello Kitty Online for the next expansion. (After Draenor.) That seems to be the trend.

You miss my point it seems. I do not like pvp aspects of the game. Claiming wh means you have to defend it afterwards. Besides I always feel like i am locked up when in a wh.
Well, I do not really want to argue about those private options. I do realize it is just for maybe a limited number of players. But still, it would offer a good opportunity to those who are quitting a game now. Lol, just saying:-)

Well PvP is an additional factor you didn't mention. All of EVE is PvP, it's PvP centric. There is no non-participation in PvP with EVE, even if you are practicing avoidance tactics which in itself is PvP, passive. And in wormhole space, not everyone is a combat pilot, many practice avoidance there. There will never be content in EVE that you will want if you fear active/passive PvP, you won't be able to reach it from highsec which is very limited. Yeah, may want to look into X3, good game.

You can technically have EVE Offline, just find a way to buy PLEX every month and you can play for free. Though, Plex is pretty expensive at the moment if you are just starting out and thinking about going that route, you have to plan for an income of 700m per month minimum.

Not really sure who is the troll in here. If you look at the first post, that was the question I asked. Then people started to post their opinions, that's all. That thread was never directed at you personally, nor do you have to answer my questions if you don't feel like it.

Since I quit what I had been playing for several years I had been looking for a game with a good economy/trading, crafting/building as well. Actually how i found eve was that it had always popped up in all the searches as a best crafting system game. I really like economy and science in here and that it actually is very realistic and not cartoony like in other games. marketplace is practically like a rl marketplace. Pvp is a problem for me though.

What exactly is your problem with EVE PVP? If you are undocking your Rhea with 100 plexes in cargo on Jita 4-4 expect to lose it before you can even give it a command to align/warp. Otherwise you can have people teach you some basic pvp and EVE skills to keep you from losing your stuff.

To be honest I had been playing for a bit more than a month and was never involved in any pvp, except for the times when I deliberately was going into the low sec. And I guess I probably can avoid it if i try really hard. But you are right it is missing a lot of content. Besides I do not like playing looking over my shoulder every time I undock and jumping when someone comes into the system. I am now practically playing all the time on SIsi, and it is nice there. So I guess i will keep it to that server, at least for the time being.

I am not sure what you mean by Eve Offline. Playing free was never my concern. I always pay for all the games I play and Eve is not that expensive. Making money in the game is of no interest to me. What i like in the game is market, building, collecting ships, PI, science.

The problem with pvp is that i do not like it and do not want to do it lol. I am not saying it is bad, it is just not my thing.
