Best Drones to fit for mining in Low-High Sec

I was wondering since I'm taking up mining for a bit what are the best drones to use for the venture and later Procurer I am using to mine in High-Low Sec Space.

I am currently using the hobgoblins but wondering if those are the best? Thanks

From personal exp (hi sec .7 and above) 2 Hobgoblins is all you need. You can use any 2 drones and kill all rats quickly.

From personal exp (hi sec .7 and above) 2 Hobgoblins is all you need. You can use any 2 drones and kill all rats quickly.


Thanks.. and because I'm new and don't know the lingo are rats the npc pirate ships?

Hobgoblins. In low-sec you'll probably want a Procurer because those rats can bite through a Cov/Retriever.

Soon, the Proc will be getting a drone bay double so you can keep a set of light drones and mining drones.

In lowsec, you'll want a full flight (i.e. 5) of hobgoblins ... and preferably that they're T2. The rats are a bit tougher than in 0.7 sec.

This will ONLY protect you against belt rats.
Players are another story entirely, and if you see someone jump into local, GTFO.

You're mining in low-sec? Why? For the Thrill?

With a tanked procurer all you need is 1 Hobgoblin I to beat a set of rats in .5 systems.

If you meant mining drones, it's a very questionable use of training time for the hassle/payout of using them.

Best advice I can give you is don't mine in lowsec, at least not until the prospect comes out with the summer expansion. The slightly increased reward just isn't worth all the caution you have to put into it. You also have to worry about somehow getting your ore/ minerals back to hisec to sell them.

In hisec, any t1 combat drones can handle the npc belt rats.
