MD/VA/DC Meet May 17th, 2014 at 1800 EDT

New thread! People missed the last and it was too area specific.

Let's have a meet this Saturday (May 17th) and start this off as a regular thing.

Last time we met in Gaithersburg. Requests have been made for something near the metro. I'd like mid afternoon to avoid the super long wait we had last time. I'm poking Epi who coordinated. We have an in game chat that I'm not in game to share the exact name with. I also tweeted!

Who has some free hours for Eve and food?

And here we shall celebrate our newly-minted regional CSM member. Everyone, bring lists of things you want changed in the game and Sugar will be right on. She will re-code POSes, she will nerf supercaps, she will make Alliance bookmarks. Right there, right then in the bar. Watch her work.

As long as we will pay for her booze, of course.

The in-game channel is VADCMD, there even is a mailing list "EVE VA". Its a bit quiet and I dont know who manages it but try it out.

Other fine establishments off ill-repute include ... Seven Provinces Irish Pub (falls church), dogfish head @ seven corners (falls church), union pub @ 201 Mass. avenue NE (near union station) ... open to all sorts of places as long as not-domestic beer

Missus and I going to try and be there. (She doesn't play - yet. She's concerned she's going to get immersed like I am - Pirate )

Will be coming from Shen Valley area, so don't care if metro or not (gotta drive to anywhere).

I want to come but Richmond is a hike to DC... however, if I can, I will come. Also trying to get my corpmate Strigon Leader to join as he is a NOVA guy... we'll see.

Ok, we had some twitter traffic with respect to location. Conditions are:

MD / NVA / DC
Metro access / walk / crawling / staggering distance to venue
Open reasonably early. This helps finding an alternative venue if we are getting evicted for public nudity.

Looking at the two places the Rock Bottom seems to be a bit more casual? We have no idea how many people are coming (so far I think we should have 7-10 confirmed).

So that will be it. I'm thinking around 1800 EDT? 1900 if 1800 is to early and stay until people wanna go home.

OK... I can make it but.... BIG but (no not mine!) I will have my 11 yo son with me if I do, so is this a restaurant or a bar? IE age issues? If restaurant, I can get him a soda and a burger and put him on the iPad inna game... plus it's an hour and 45min drive for us... so can't stay late, basically 2 hour drive home.

Those who know, please let me know if this is not a family place, or if we are meeting in a n age restricted area.

Whether or not I can bring Aiden will determine whether I can show up or not.
And just FYI, he really wants to come... (he is a twitchy FPS player at 11, Halo, CoD, etc.) but he thinks EVE is awwwwsum... =]

Rock Bottom is totally family-friendly... the bar is attached to the main dining area which has plent of room for large groups upstairs [~95% sure about that] Food is decent, moderately priced for the area ... the only down side, and this is getting kinda picky, is that they serve THEIR BEER ONLY. To be fair their beer is pretty decent but if you're expecting some crazy micro-gourmet-****... it ain't gonna happen. vOv
