They will be when they realize that CCP can't compete in the console market. Which is most likely why they switched to Legion, and will abandon Dust/Legion on console.

I personally will be playing Legion, as long as my laptop can handle it. I'm hoping by the time it comes out I will have graduated, have a better job and can afford a new PC every two years to keep up with everything. Big smile

CCP has said that no merc will be left behind. So, yes, they are supporting it.
Also, you will be able to use one character to use in Valerye, Legion, and Eve, using the new Gurista cloning tech.

Just to clarify they ARENT abandoning Dust on the console, they will probably push Legion out pretty fast and take what they learn from it and apply it to Dust in hopes of moving it over to PS4. I don't think they will abandon console, its just at the moment PS4 is new, everyone still is lingering on PS3 so give it about 6 months and Id say the majority will switch over. The future of Dust will be on PC/PS4 not PC only and most likely not PC/PS3.

(Legion)?! The OP there didn't put a period in his sentence, he's talking about Dust. The devs are replying about Dust, not Legion. And yes, I'm certain that they will eventually put Dust on the PS4, unless dust bunnies do manage to kill off their game by scaring away new players as they have been doing recently with a whole lot of misquotes and disinformation around the interwebs.

Don't get your hopes up for Legion, it's a project showcased at Fanfest, they don't have the best track record. I still remember fleet formations, hull damage, subsystem targeting, atmospheric flight, comet and ring mining, asteroid physics, modular PoS, Tech 3 hulls beyond cruisers, avatar game-play, epic missions added each update, competitive planetary interaction, combat simulators for player run tournaments, particle effects for modules and many, many more.

At this point CCP stands for 'Can't Commit to Projects'

Don't get me wrong, I like EVE and CCP, but we have a very dysfunctional relationship. I've just seen too many ideas disappear to believe in something pitched at Fanfest.

You do realize that it's a port, right? Not even to a different game engine, just a different platform. You really think CCP is that incompetent? I really give them the benefit of the doubt on this, something that even a bunch of highschoolers could maybe do. As for the different development branch, well they really haven't said what their plans are yet, hard to discount something unannounced. Probably why they will keep it under wraps for some time to come due to postings like this.

But it's not just a port, it's a sandboxed fps with pvp and pve, that requires additional assets, designs and programming. It's not Dust 514 on PC, it's Project Legion.

Remember that PS4 runs on x86 architecture just like PCs. So a very sensible move for both PC and consoles.
