So I am either going to train towards commandships or Legion. I am leaning abit towards legion atm as it is a very unique ship, and I need a solo pvp ship.

Found these 2 fits, which of the 2 do you prefer and why? Can you think of any better? This will be for solo pvp or small gang.

http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/31219-Legion-750dps-160k-ehp.html

Would probably fly 2nd option with 2 webs instead of SB.

Anyway looking for opinions :D

And also what do you think of these setups vs using pilgrim/curse?

Edit: these setups are for gangs not solo, would appreciate some solo setups too :D

part of me wants you to go ahead and solo in a legion Pirate

another part is willing to suggest that you get a lot more experience in simpler/cheaper ships before you try Blink

Its not this char obviously :)

Anyway, legion vs pilgrim or curse for solo pvp? thing is my amarr char has no missile skills and dont plan on training them, and for most amarr solo ships ppl tend to favor missiles it seems ,i guess to counter neuts.

Legion is adorable ship and i love it immensly.

However its not very useful in PVP.

If u buffer tank it becomes too slow with agility of a Jupiter.

If u want to active tank it - u have no buffer and any neut ship will best u.

If u still insist on PVPing in Legion probably stick to gatecamping only (not much movement needed there:)

Luckily there is one place where Legion is better than any other T3 --> Incursions (NCO/NMC)

Well basicly looking for a roaming pvp solo ship, pick off ratters etc in lowsec. Thing I like with legion is u dont have to worry about gatecamps being able to warp in bubble and warp cloaked.

But I guess even then, the ship just isnt good enough to really kill anything solo ? :(

I might train recon V instead of strategic then and go with curse, too bad it cant warp cloaked though ^^

Go with the pilgrim because it can covert ,neuts and drone dps ant the same time.

the legion cannot warp cloaked ,nuet and do dps at the same time

Your number one mistake is looking for ratters in lowsec. If you mean null, sure, there are some and the interdiction nullifier is handy, but pilgrim cam get through camps fine with practice and if you're only picking on defenseless targets you either kill them with no trouble or it's bait and you die horribly, so go with the cheaper option.

If you want an actual peeveepee ship for shooting people who shoot back, HAM legion is quite fun, and the Harby/arbitrator/geddon/imp slicer are all amarr classics.

Decided to skip Legion and just use pilgrim/curse for some solo pvp.

Gonna train black ops instead seems more useful.

I would go with the HAM Legion for solo. It can apply far more DPS than the laser fit and doesn't have its capacitor issues.

If you can put together a small gang, the legion actually excels as a neut ship. You can go for a cloaky neut fit that does zero DPS but can wreck ewar and logi for an enemy gang, or you can treat it as a curse with a battleship tank by putting a drone bay on it.

First idea, good. I love my Pilgrim.

Second idea, bad. Black ops is a bus.

The legion is rather lacking compared to the other t3's it doesn't give much benefit over the absolution or the zealot since those are both great great ships.

The HAM legion with 100mn is rather decent and does its job quite well at brawling and getting out when things go bad. But since you're not interested in missiles,

Go fly an absolution or zealot. The zealot has the speed and long range capability. The absolution has tank and gank.

I myself use the Absolution for Wormholes, as it has nearly as much tank as the legion, while putting out much more dps. Along with it being half the cost with no skillpoint loss.

while the legion is a great pvp ship, the dps and ehp are rather poopy for the cost versus an absolution... i used a legion for a while while training to abby and with perfect skills my abby gets 925dps and with T2 trimarks it has about 114k EHP

iirc, my legion had ~650dps, and 100k ehp. it also was 300-400mil isk more than my abby, but a bit faster and maneuverable
