I do not normally venture into the realm of trusting pirates, But being a drone carrier, escort carrier pilot if you will. These gecko drones are outstanding. I have purchased twenty more units of them and have loved every moment.

I can only assume it's a code-phrase of some sort, but as to who, what, or where this Highway to the Dangerzone actually is, is probably anyone's guess at this point.

Petroleum jelly and carbonated water are ineffective interrogation tools for fighter pilots. What you need to employ in this circumstance is shirtless volleyball.

Well, those Guristas baddies won't buy me off so easily! But I hate to admit it, it was genuinly a very nice gift.

On further review of the technicals, this superheavy drone employs a number of drone control systems that have upgrades inbound. I think the play by the Guristas is demonstrating that they'd already secured access to classified technical schematics a month before they're due to be released to the public, and deployed novel technologies using those techniques before the empires.

That's-- well, that's actually rather impressive.

Yeah. That or they developed this tech in the first place. They've got some nice brains in any case.

Given the research sites operated by pirate factions that we have seen popping up recently (the so-called "ghost" sites), I wouldn't put it past them to be developing something new themselves. In fact some of you may or may not have heard the rumor that the Scorpion was based on the rattlesnake rather than the other way around. I don't know that I believe it, but it at least demonstrates a fair number of people believe the Guristas capable of such a thing.

On a side note, I don't think the Guristas are the only ones innovating. I have heard reports of Sansha ships going unusually fast yet lacking the telltale signature bloom of a microwarpdrive. I inquired if they may be using afterburners for larger classes, and the response I got was that the other equipment suggested that to be impossible due to the power requirements. I can only assume they have developed a new propulsion module or made a radical redesign to their engine design.

I do love you, darling. I wish I wasn't such a dizzy blonde in a pod. What's that? Oh, yes, right. Other wig.

Exactly that. They may be pirates, but they wouldn't get where they are now without being smart.

But I LIVE in the Dangerzone and I really don't remember them at any of the neighbourhood association parties...

I had one of my tech crews do a full visual cataloge of one of these that I have and noticed on the wing it says ED-209. After a quick check, the other Geckos also sport that. Did the man you interrogated mention anything about the relevance of that?

Production number?
model number?
squadron number? (since all of them have the same marking it can't be craft ID)

It may still take some weeks until the high intensity strobe lights and Jin-Mei metal pop running at 125 Decibels, bears the fruit to answer such a question.

In current warfare when people die, they don't sploosh with blood, but rather burnt to crisp or frozen into icicle.

To bring this thread a bit back on tracks, this whole Gecko thing reminded me of an odd event earlier this year, of gurista's dying in Gallente space.

The Aurora report on it: Gurista Capsuleers spotted!

The official news here: Federal Intelligence Office responds to Guristas activity in Placid

They do speak about a small prototype ship, perhaps an experimental Gecko drone? Or perhaps just not related. Still, it might be worth to investigate this further with the unveiling of the Gecko drone.
