Gates and cloak question.

So during a recent roam/gatecamp our cloaky scout tell us an Atron is coming through the gate. We see gate activation and wait for him to break cloak. Couple of minutes go by and no Atron. After another minute or so he looses cloak as he jumps back through the gate... I was under the impression that as soon as you clicked to re approach gate, your cloak was dropped and that you would be visible until you clicked on your cloak module.. somehow this Atron was able to re approach and re cloak without ever appearing on overview.

So my question is: How does one reactive cloak without appearing on overview? It seems like when I try to do it I still appear on overview. (As soon as I start reapproaching or aligning out, everything starts swarming to my direction on deploying drones to break my cloak even though I am immediately clicking my cloak)

I want that atron because it must have been some special model.

Gate cloak works the way you think: it lasts until you start moving or for 1 minute. There is no way he could be invisible all that time even if he had cloak fitted (which would be utterly bonkers) and activated it at same moment he started aligning back to gate. He would have at least blinked on your overview.

Thats what I though. just wondering is there's some trick out there that keeps them from blinking.. because there were at least 6 of us watching overview.. he never blinked.

Maybe your overview settings are messed up?

Or maybe it was just a big coincidence and the server lagged when he alligned and recloaked?

Must have been server lag then. There were at least 6 of us on that gate watching overview for fast tackle.

The logs show nothing.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)
