In what world could that initial demand ever be comatable with "I'll pay you to wh*re in on CONCORD killmails". Remember: Gevlon knows, I know, you know, people in this thread know, Aleks and Noir know that simply shooting at a ship that's being CONCORDed anyway is literally pointless. Why on Earth would Gevlon ever employ them to do such a thing?

Because he's insane? I've suspected that for some time. Too much "Grr Goons!" is bad for your mental health.

The entire thing isn't about their effectiveness, that's been established long since as a smokescreen. I was there that weekend, they did far more damage to the Burn Jita effort than anything Darwin's even came close to. For goodness sake's they jammed me once or twice while I was out there. They got the job done.

They did blow up Gobbo's alts in the process, I believe. But that's because he was fool enough to not set any blues. Turns out people who shoot other people for a living like to shoot people. Who'd have thunk it?

"Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

One of ours, ten of theirs.

Best Meltdown Ever.

Gevlon Goblin is the Senator Joseph McCarthy of Eve Online.

There does exist a McCarthy of EvE Online but Gevlon is not it.

You've missed the point: He wouldn't. Call him what you will, but he's logical to a fault and there's no logic in paying someone to wh*re on CONCORD kills.

I talk about EVE trading and general space violence in my blog.

Aleks, even with 20/20 hindsight doesn't appear to figure out (or perhaps is too proud to admit) that Gevlon's contract was clearly intended to prevent ganks and impede Goon success in BJ3.

One wonders if that was the intent, why Gobbo specifically gave them a "per killmail" style contract.

Face it, he tried to scam them. It didn't work, he's stomping his feet about it.
Really? Really? He opens up with "The plan would be to NOT be at war with Goons, forming up in Scorpions and Blackbirds and jamming out Goon Taloses and Brutixes when they go GCC, spoiling their ganks."

If you learn to read, later in the same conversation, Aleks says "How about 5m/kill, 10m for pods? GSF only or all participating CFC forces?" to which Gevlon responds "Hi, 5M/kill is great, but not for destroyers. How about 2M for Catalyst, 5M for Brutix, 10M for Talos. Unfortunately Trashers, Hurricanes and Tornadoes worth nothing since they shoot one volley only, when they go GCC. Jamming/killing them after that one volley does nothing."

Now anyone that knows anything about ganking in a 0.9 knows that jamming a T1 cata is about as effective as hurling a wet sponge at them, since at most you knock of a couple of K damage. What Noir was aiming to do (and was at least partly successful at times) was to catch us between warps and with killrights, etc and kill us before the gank began, then failing that volley us off the field.

Sitting around in an ECM ship would require you to preempt what we are hitting, (since you will not catch up in time if you have to warp in), split ECM enough to strip back enough catalysts to actually peel off the DPS, and do all of that after volley 1 has been fired. If that was the plan, good luck with all that.

I have yet to see Gevlon being logical (or rational for that matter which is another of his self proclaimed strengths). Just because someones screams "THIS IS LOGIC" while speaking utter nonsense doesn't make it the case. He jumps to conclusions based on limited data, often limited specifically to support those conclusions. I can see why people that are really dumb and naive might go along with what he's saying as he presents it with such conviction, but to the average and above it's clearly just badly planned propaganda executed by someone with no knowledge of the social interaction required to successfully push such a campaign.
