Like most people, you fail to understand how reality and language work.

the bounty matters.

Every time somebody with bounty gets killed,
the killer receives money and somebody gets a notification.

Substantially high amounts matter for those receiving it.

Many put out bounties to receive notifications about a loss of the bounteed,
so again it matters.

Bounties are a temporary (sometimes permanent) ISK sink,
so they matter here too.


Reality. People. Hard to understand, I know.

If you people will find a way to actually properly express your issues with bounty,
then others might actually care enough to push this pointless whining beyond irrelevance.

Many call it "virtual reality", but it's a "reality" anyway.
Especially EVE ONLINE, because in EVE ONLINE it's all about people,
causality, interaction and stuff.

I can safely conclude that the issue lies with you ... and not them.

st0ner smurf and D400 have claimed a LOT in bounties by indiscriminantly popping pods in highsec, and there's someone I've heard of that makes a career out of hunting and podding high bounty people. Someone did recently get a ~50m payout from my bounty too.

But most bounties mean nothing. I do love putting 315315 ISK bounties on miners that have just lost a ship and pod to the New Order, however.

I think the last person (whose name I don't know but they are #1 on the bounty hunter list) is an anti-pirate that runs locates on the higher bounty people, keeps intel on them, and then wardecs them if they operate in empire, catches them solo, pops them and smartbombs their pod before it can warp away using the techniques that James 315 developed when he used to wardec Orca pilots, kill them and smartbomb their pods in an Ishtar.

And for the price of putting someone that high into bounties where some special person MIGHT take a crack at them you could hire an entire team of mercs to salt the earth for them, for quite a few weeks.

Also, no gaming experiences being ruined-merely being modified. if you want to Shoot rocks, you can of course continue, just be more aware when you do so. Perhaps examine your behaviors to determine why you're an attractive gank. are you mining in an extremely busy system? find somewhere that isn't and happily have a light show for hours. plenty of high-sec systems are deserted most of the time. use your map's "ships killed in last hour" tool to see where gankers might be active, and don't be there. don't afk mine, or you violate THE CODE.

further, you said it yourself: many characters benefit from a lack of attention. putting an inflammatory post on C+P=/=laying low.
