The last really bad hangover I had was my wedding celebration. I seemed to have recovered fine. My wife however seems to still have a headache. That was 10 years ago. Shocked

So I'm not sure I'm the one to answer your question about how long a hangover lasts.

They're Icelandic...not Irish. Roll

Ireland is only 6th in World alcohol consumption.

According to Wikipedia the top 5 are Luxembourg, France, Austria, Estonia and Germany :D

Alcohol per peep not per population is a better metric Big smile

As a fully qualified and certified slurplord I do believe this thread to be populated by lightweights.
Fairly well traveled, hard drinking Football/Cricket fan, so... to the Scots I would raise a glass as the undoubted Kings of, simply exceptional. To the Irish I would have no hesitation in putting them in 3rd place.. sure they can slurp but are always the slow and steady with the occasional goodun amongst them.
Abroad in say anywhere in Europe I would give the Germanics an honorable mention but they do like to go home for lunch and dinner P
Never had a a Frenchie or a Spaniard last the distance, never ever. 'Murica peeps like to chase, but they just get louder and louder until they have to go search for "Huey"...just don't ever be the guy that follows them in as it will always end in a blue on blue.
Not that much exp with the Diggers as was only there 6 days, here in England they talk the talk but when we visit them they do tend to be lil shy with us.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgwsaUnZa8g

Hangover's last as long as it takes to find "the hair of the dog" whilst information overload tends to take a tad longer to recover from.
Loving all the new stuff alluded to of late.

Isn't headache built-in feature of wives?

Last mutli-day binge I was on was bike week in New Hampshire. We got a huge group going, rode 240 miles, drank for 5 days, slept for a day, then rode 240 miles home with a nasty storm on our asses the whole way back.

Good times.

French Alps, 1 week of company "integration" trip back in 2003. I don't ski or do any sports so I spent all week drinking with one teammate who shared my aversion to sport activities. Group went to mountains, we opened a bottle, group got back to dinner we woke up from little snooze, group went again, we opened second bottle, group got back at late evening, we woke up and party with them until 3 or 4 am. Rinse and repeat whole week and no hungover had any chance.

Then we had that long 28 hour bus trip back to reality...

Give them a few days, it's not as easy to find thatch-roof cottages as it used to be.

Being Irish this gives cause for concern, having ample thatched buildings nearby ( notably the local pub )

To Patri. By no means was I trying to attack your character. (Well maybe a smidge, but in a nice wayBig smile) Stoicfaux blows things out of proportion sometimes.

In my last club, we did a round trip ride around the country for summer vacation about 10 years ago. We rode US 40 from Flagstaff AZ to Nashville, and Amarillo was right along the way. I seem to remember pretty much EVERYONE we met in Tx being rowdy and a lotta laughs. With that in mind, my horns wisecrack was just me trying to get a rise out of you. Big smileBig smile

Seems like you figured that much, but I wanted to clarify.

Anecdotally, the Australian soldiers on active duty in Europe and North Africa during WWII thought the Polish were the only ones capable of knocking back a reasonable amount and keeping up with the Aussies.

Now admittedly the Poles at the time had their country occupied and were fighting to get their home back which may have effected their attitude a bit.

Just to be extra boring.

Almost everyone from CCP who attended the Fanfest was actually working (for most of the time).

So not only are the majority of them being allowed to sleep in for some days to repair their internal organs (and possibly personal relations), they are also allowed to sleep in for some days due to working outside normal hours.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Well, once they get to the pub they start drinking and the whole cycle begins anew. Might explain why this is taking a while.

I See Fozzie made a post on the Phoenix. Good on him. Now the rest of the devs should peel themselves off the floor and do work!

It depends how much you drank, how old you are. What your current tollerance levels are like. How much water you consumed etc.

Assuming the Devs are of average constitution and in mid 30's drink regularly to a moderate level and consumed at least some water during the drinking binge. I would say somewhere between 24 hours and 48 hours to return to normal state.
