That means I'll be able to hang out cloaked or in a POS indefinately when on safari and barring a closed socket there won't be any opportunity to kick me!

currently the only way to remove some one [who isn't docked] from your corp is to log in faster than them after downtime and boot them before they log in. if there is no downtime to force a log out, people who remain out in space cannot be removed from a corporation. what monk says is true.

also, between orcas and mobile depots... it's not like you ever need to be docked (and thus give some one a chance to kick you)

Please tell me this already started. I'm at work and fully expect my alt to be booted before I get home (left him cloaked at a safe spot).

Do we have a source for this? Is it upcoming, or already active?

Considering they are also revamping the Corp/alliance systems in the near future they might change it so you can kick those not in station or offline as well, that is, if they ever manage to remove downtime.

And Bots can run even more efficiently than they do! (pretty sure bots auto login already)

And to those asking, this is a plan for the future for when certain server functions are separated properly on TQ. Specifcally talking about the changes necessary to allow a single sign on for Valkyrie, Legion, and EVE.

See, you have a problem here.

The "not being able to kick when undocked" doesn't have to do with corp/alliance systems, it has to do with the in-space standings change. The system currently can't change who you're allowed to fight or not based on wardecs and such while you're in space. Because things would get crazy.

Can't the corp members just all leave corp and reform? or do they forfeit the corp name in the process?

If there's no downtime, does that mean I can log into EVE and NEVER LOG OUT?!? I can finally achieve my dreams of being a 24/7 space cowboy as I harvest livestock from planets in null. Yippe-Ki-Yay!

The only worry would be the cluttering of abandoned ships/drones, so if CCP could clear thouse without downtime then that would be a massive, and welcome change

Common sense dictates that CCP will change the mechanic
in case people refuse to leave corps for a longer timeframe.

Don't get your hopes up. They'll just get crushed,
creating an annoying whinefest.
