Couldn't all this confusion be sorted out by calling them T5? Since they require Battlecruisers 5....

The Redundancy Department of Redundancy would like to inform you that T3 = tech 3, and the new battlecruisers are Tier 3, which means they have standard resists, and only one set of bonuses modified by the Battle cruiser skill, not by any advanced command skills.

@Op - It's been done to death and possibly beyond, but unfortunately the two words describing the technology levels of ships do lead to some confusion initially. Tier as opposed to Tech. Heh, who can blame you? Trust me, those lambasting you here went through the same confusion when they started off, but now that they know - everyone else is stupid and lazy.
