The Mobile micro jump unit is a great device if you could use it while being warp scrammed. While the Mobile micro jump unit lets you jump 100km in any direction it does not work if you are warp scrammed, therefore I think that the mobile micro jump unit is a seperate power source that has nothing to do with your ship or if you are scrammed, so scrammed or not you should be able to use the unit and jump in any direction, this would make game play very different and interesting, i think that these units would be used a great deal more if warp scramming was not an effect on the unit, as I said before the unit is a seperate power source from your ships source, therefore logically it would only make since that the unit works regurdless of your ships warp scram status.

The unit just works with your warp drive, since a warp drive requires a designated target the MJD works more as a targeting module then it does just as a power source. However since it still utilizes your warp drive it makes sense that you cannot use it while scrammed.

And what would you propose as counter then?

Because the scrambler is the counter to have ships not run away.

In your mind, ships will always be able to jump away and nobody can stop them?

Terrible idea in the wrong forum.

Once you allow a "warp drive scramble", supposedly using a device that can circumvent a ship's shielding, armor and structure to disengage its engines...when weapons couldn't accomplish this miraculous feat...once you allow this ridiculous concept, you open yourself up to countermeasure, prevention...a string of absurdities on the same scale.

What's amusing is, such a technology that could penetrate to the heart of a vessel and disable its engines is so much more powerful than any standard weapons in this game, considering what it actually must be doing to the target ship to accomplish this miracle, it makes the idea of say projectile weapons (??) so absurd as to be laughable.

It is OBVIOUS why this ridiculous device, or concept, was introduced in EVE. People didn't want their "KILLS" warping off on them before they struck the final BLOW....there isn't a kill till that final blow is struck...but we're in the 21st Century. We count not getting what we might have had as a LOSS. (That's a separate math problem).

IN REALITY, the majority of naval engagements (ships on the sea) resulted in no result. Some of the most famous of these "wounded" significant ships, but certainly did not SINK them. So, to satisfy EVE player's QQ over their killboard, CCP took this ridiculous tack and devised the WARP SCRAM.

Imagine how successful a gate camp would be if there was no WARP SCRAM, or it's even more ridiculous cousin the WEB. (I guess this means you can locally alter the time/space continuum...or some such...ugh..with the equivalent of a side-view mirror on a truck.) These two devices, if they were possible in the world of EVE possibility, would be so powerful the entire tech dimension would be shaken to its core.

And, everything instantly became obsolete.

Who gives a flying f*ck if this nonsensical crutch for self-glorifying PvP-ers has a "problem"?
Uh...other than these so-called "PvP-ers."

Mad? Funny. In seven years I've never been warp scrammed or webbed by a player. Mad. You must be one of these "pvp-ers"

Enjoy your crutch.

It's actually a pretty easy concept. Warp drives of nearly any science-fiction origin work by folding or "warping" space to accelerate past the speed of light (and to negate inertial effects while accelerating to said speed). If you twist space enough around the ship, the warp drive can't make a stable corridor, and the ship can't safely warp away without being torn to shreds by the spatial stresses.

Doesn't need to shut down the engine, it just needs to screw up space enough that the engine can't do what it's supposed to be doing. Same concept as webifiers, it isn't shutting down your engine, it's just screwing with space/time such that the engine isn't really doing it's job as well as expected (at least, in quasi-Euclidean space the ship is flying through).

You fail to realize that there are more ways of affecting an object than reaching out and physically touching it. Force gradients are kinda a thing.
