Stratios.

The pilgrims terrible dps and extremelly limited target selection makes it quite inferior. I never really understood why people think its good.

Because it IS good.

Stratios is a new ship. The Pilgrim has performed unmatched so far and now its getting a strong competition.

The grim still performs above and beyond against anything amarrian *which is ironic*, and it is able to tackle or serve as an entry point through cyno while also being extremly good for *quick* scouting / recon on more hostile territory (correct me here if I am wrong, but the stratios / asteros still have a penalty on cloaking delay, dont they? 12 or 15seconds ), the grim does not.

It is a remarkably good ship, and great for soloing all around, it also costs half (havent noticed the recent prices, need an update on this) of a stratios.

Again, Stratios is amazing competition, but the grim is still a great ship with lots of uses.

Could it use an extra low/med? Sure *COUGH COUGH bluntly asking for unbalanced buffing *COUGH*, but it is a fun and -good- ship.

A recon with **** EHP and unbonused neut range forcing it into hard tackle every time it takes an engagement is pretty categorically not good.

What kind of EHP wouldn't be considered sh!t for recon?

That is serious question because I wonder about getting pilgrim for lowsec solo lulzies and I don't have experience with t2 cruisers. Fit I put together has 32k EHP (buffer fit) and 320 dps from medium drones with my skills, doesn't seem very fragile to me although it is definitely not a level of dps you can get out of much cheaper t1 drone cruisers.

One minor note: while the Stratios can jump through a black ops bridge, it can't mount a covert cyno generator (I tested with a character that can sit in a Stratios and has CFT V). For solo combat, that shouldn't be a concern, but it means the Stratios can't act as advance scout and cyno for a blops drop.

For me it would boil down to what targets would I be looking for.

Cruiser and below -> pilgrim

Cruiser and above -> strations

Food for thought:

The Pilgrim's main downfall is it's lack of DPS. You will tackle someone and start pounding on him just to find help arriving 30-45 seconds later and it is bye bye Pilgrim. Go with the Stratios. The lack of dps really hurts the Pilgrim.
