I could see paying for the experience of Fanfest, paying to watch the presentations NFW....

With some of the proposed changes in the EVE summer expansion, the increasing hate in the love/hate relationship of DUST514 player base. Make me think CCP's new direction is to see how long it can circle the drain without going down it.

Seriously fix that broken crap in the existing products before adding **** or starting new ones.

My 2isk anyway....

Poor Dust lol....

So how do we watch what's going on at Fanfest? I'm not paying for **** that doesn't work, even though it's pointless to pay for it. Is there a way to watch it at all?

So during the dust keynote, it dawned on me that dust is not a typical fps. What? A gamespot review 6 months ago rated dust as poor (4 of 10), which contains a comment (by Hitomo) that makes it clear:
Hitomo's comments on gamespot.com wrote:
People just dont like permanent-loss games, its frustrating to most of them, reminds them of real.life I guess ...
That pretty much sums it up for me. All the fps games I grew up on were fun as hell for a couple hours. The faster the gameplay, the more fun. Dust has chosen to go in the opposite direction for not-fun gameplay. Sad
If dust were released on desktop pc, I would at least have tried it once (beta test) to find out how bad it was. I have never and will never use a console.

Dust is a great game. Permanent loss is why I play. It's one of the main reasons I enjoy it so much. There is a real challenge and you have to be competitive to survive. I support Dust and all it's trying to achieve. People that don't play the game comment on it like they know what it's like. I don't get that. The game has its issues but no more than any other of shooter. It offers way more and is only moving forward. It's not stuck in one place like every other game in the genre.

I love eve and look forward to the changes coming soon, but I have almost completely lost interest after the absolute crap CCP has pulled with Dust. Don't get me wrong, I've wanting something like Dust on the PC for a long time, but CCP has made this move in the most self-serving, unprofessional way I can imagine a game company doing it--and game companies are notoriously scummy as it is. If CCP pulled this kind of crap with EVE, I would leave in an instant. The Dust keynote was a snub to the Dust community--ironic, since the keynote started out by praising the Dust community. How did that move pass even CCP review? The existing Dust player base should have been--should still be-- the main concern of CCP in transitioning to PC, in whatever way possible.

As it is, every Dust player should get a refund for their "screw-you-fans-fest" tickets, a public apology, and should get character transfers or equivalent skills in the upcoming PC game.

CCP has gained some of my respect over the years, but even as someone who has never played Dust, CCP as a whole just lost all that respect I've had for them. Apologize to the Dust community and work on making amends ASAP.

The DUST514 community's response was bordering on open revolt... CCP probably won't have to have it limp along for the development cycle of Legion. People are biomassing their characters left and right, even ones from closed beta in some instances. Once the news hits the various gamer sites and is verified it won't be pretty. And this is coming on the heels of a project worked on for several years being scrapped...

The will be a backlash and it will be felt in Eve proper

I'm not a DUST514 player, but I have to say, Fanfest having nothing on DUST514 at all, not even in the DUST keynote wasn't right. You don't proclaim having a DUST portion of Fanfest and then not say anything DUST related at all. Call it a Legion keynote at the very least, and then still, you have DUST players who invested in your game, in your company. Treat them like human beings. This should have been handled better.
