Few days ago it popped in my mind that I haven't seen GM Horse for long time on forums. I remember him for having very funny name and facial appearance combination. Below link is to old thread about his face:

I checked his profile and it seems that he has been moved to retirement home corporation 2,5 years ago. Below link to his profile data:

I made google search with his name and found sad news about what happened to him.

This thread is now for saying goodbye to GM Horse. Game Master with very funny face and funny name. Tell here where do you remember GM Horse?

Goodbye GM Horse. I hope you have found greener fields to run.

I know it is little late for goodbye thread but as people say better late than newer. It is bad that people in CCP just vanish when they leave. I want to say goodbye and I wish people could leave CCP openly and not just quietly shut the door behind them.

Ummm uhh no didn't know him, or didn't personally follow his work, But o7

That's how it usually works. Like if you ever work for a software developer, once you are out, you're out, at least out of the system and off any support boards, company e-mails etc. In fact you may be out before you even know you are out. The whole disgruntled worker thing and such, avoiding those risks. Can lead to various compromises, NDA guidelines broken, legal issues etc etc etc.

But yeah, lots of people were out back then, nature of development.

I'm in it for the money

GM Horse was one of those that fell in the debacle of the Summer Incarna of Rage.

yeah, there were some good people that left CCP in that mess. When news of layoffs came, there was this bitter aftertaste, like we knew that we won, but we probably went a bit too far.

I think she left before that.

Did you cancel any accounts?
I did Smile
And not just renew before it ran out, either.
Not your fault, not my fault, not their fault, that was CCP exec judgement for whatever reason. When they recanted everyone came back, eventually, even continued to grow subs. So who knows, some bitter execs decision.

Yes it wasn't our fault. Root cause was the exec. But in the end I felt nagging feeling that people's lives were thrown into a turmoil because of the whole mess.

A "what if" type of feeling, if you get what I'm saying.
