Stupid Mouse!!!

All,

I was curious if anyone was having issues with the mouse cursor jumping or lagging in game. It seems that my cursor isn’t as smooth as it once was. Is anyone having issues with that? I have the wireless logi-tec keyboard and mouse. Out of game, the mouse works fine, but in game is when it starts to happen.

In addition to that issue, is anyone else having half their screens white out? When I scroll in towards the ship it appears to fix the issue, but when I zoom back out, it comes back again (Whited out screen). I looked for a technical channel and I didn’t see one, so I thought I would just post there.

Thoughts?

My instincts tell me that your drivers may be the source of both issues.

Mouse: update whatever proprietary mouse software you might be using (e.x., Logitech Setpoint).

Graphics: I have actually encountered the white screen issue before in a few different situations over the past year or so. Updating my graphics drivers (Nvidia) at least suppressed the issue until the next expansion hit. Most recently I encountered this while watching freighters explode during Burn Jita, but there's way too many variables there to pinpoint what might be the root cause of the issue.

Optical, yes. But light doesn't shine well through dirt. Big smile

Well, just refrain from wiping your boogers on the mouse pad and you wont have issues.

(also make sure to wipe down your keyboard thouroughly after visiting your favorite "entertainment" sites.)Blink

You can still get dust and debris over the lense that could mess up the tracking. Have had it happen before.

Yup, and if you have a wheel mouse, well, you probably don't want to know what gets stuck in there and wrapped around the axle.

Stop using faeces as a mouse pad and you won't have this problem.

Mouse lag could be caused by a number of reasons:
- dirt;
- CPU load;
- GPU load;
- GPU age;
- GPU drivers;
- not enough RAM;

The white-out issue is a bug. It happens sometimes to me when the game renders a ship explosion and passes as the explosion animation completes. As you said, zooming in/out sometimes helps.

Speaking of mouses I once got podded because dirt got under the laser point of my optical mouse. I'm still reeling from it. It was a simple gatecamp a pod can escape.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

No to the graphics issue.

There probably are some issues with Logitech products related to EVE currently. For some weeks I've had the weird effect, that letter and numerical keys stop working ingame every now and then. Pressing the Windows key once gets them back to work. Silly, but no big deal atm.

Drivers were / are up to date and it only happens with EVE.

Edit: Keyboard is a K750.

I have problems with mine all the time. The left mouse button wears out. Starts acting like it is double clicking, or not registering that I clicked at all. Got so bad today I opened up my new mouse box, and used that. Bought it six months ago and never used it. Wanted the old one to get to the point where I was going to throw it.

Which is why I do like my mouse; it's wireless, but came with a usb connector in case you don't want to run on battery power.
