Well either they havent lost a ship yet or this is demonstratably false

You mean to a player right? Cos, y'know, CONCORD and stuff

Talking about the big fight with titans and stuff last year. You know you may be in a council but you try so hard not to know stuff.

By knowing stuff you are saying that there is not a difference of opinion, but self evident facts that CFC have been somewhat upset

But I am not sure what a fleet action a year ago has to do with Burn Jita (You know, the topic of conversation)

Also: Is this the face of Peace and Prosperity?

Wasn't off topic at all, just commenting on other things on last page. Also be clear when you write, I do not speak riddle.

Please tell me the words that are giving you difficulty and Ill explain what they mean

And yes, a fleet action one year ago nowhere near Jita is somewhat off topic.

I'm wondering if Jita was simply too small of a target.

Here's the reason:

For a long time now, even before the SoE ships and the boost in LP income from running SoE L4s, I was based in Osmon. It was more quiet back then. I ran mainly SoE missions when in highsec because it gave me better control over my standings with the empires. Running FIO missions for example does not play well with Caldari faction.

But back then, if I wanted something, I ended up having to go to Jita. That's 6 jumps away.

Frankly when goons announced they wanted to burn Jita again, I did not place my finger on it, but I had a "why bother" feeling, like if someone suggested it to me, I would say "what's the point of that?". But now I realize that this is coming from observations of the area from Osmon to Jita.

What I have noticed is that I don't have to go to Jita for everything. Last time I went shopping (and had buttered scones with tea) I actually bought some items without checking the system because when sorting for lowest price it was always Jita Jita Jita and I purchased some items and then went to Jita 4-4 expecting them to be there but they were in fact in Osmon in the Lai Dai station. What?

Because of this I wonder that if an organization wanted to really make a dent in things they would have to cover that area of the Forge region, from say the opposite of Jita from the direction to Osmon and Osmon on towards the adjacent systems, and not only gank freighters but mission runners too. In the latter case, affecting SoE LP creation could affect the market in ways that could benefit those who are properly positions and "gunboat market strategy" is perfectly a part of the game.

That plus the crimewatch mechanics could make things quite interesting and spread the love.

I hope the goons adapt and think of expanding in their future burns. They certainly have no shortage of people for it and I think a good time will be had by all. I regret not having enough time to go to Jita last week.

Bring back DEEEEP Space!

What's the point? That people in EVE pay no attention to what is going on around them. If I recall correctly it was blatantly advertised as to what was going to happen, when it was going to happen, whom it was going to happen to, and who was going to do it. Did anyone pay attention to the posts or blogs? No, they did not. What happened because of it? 500 billion + in destroyed ships, mods, etc. The tears are so delicious.

TL;DR: Pay more attention to the metagame.

EDIT:

Where is the challenge?

they killed some ships and blew some modules - thus increased demand:
- miners will need to mine ore
- manufacturers need to make new ships and modules
- traders will have new toys to play with

they provided people with free targets:
- free riskless "pvp" for anyone interested
- free loot for those who fast enough (i got some part of it)
- free bounties for luckers (i got 10 mil from one guy from NO)

they provided something to talk about on forums, to write for bloggers, etc...

Quite a lot of good stuff i guess. All of it in expense of those who don't pay attention to environment and flies their freighters solo when people kill such things

I think a better idea would be to burn Goon Swarm. Have high sec fly on over and break stuff for a week then fly off. Would really spice things up I think.

A little sabre rattling, a little amusement at the expense of others ... so none really.

People are risk averse.
People don't want challenge.
That's why there are corps, alliances and coalitions.
The greater the numbers, the less risk there is.

The point of it was to provide entertainment for the gankers.

It's a pvp game that involves blowing up spaceships, people need to be entertained.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...
