After patching to 1.4 last night my launcher freezes and I cannot log in. I have tried both the fixes mentioned Here:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=316715&find=unread

But the launcher still freezes and I have to close it via Force Quit.

On a 27" iMac OS X 10.9.2 (3.06 GHz/8 GB, Radeon 4670/256 MB)

I am having the same issue.

System INFO

Model: MacBookPro9 - 15-inch, Mid 2012
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

Steps to replicate

Simply open the eve launcher, it fails to load > Then says eve is not responded > Then i have to force Quit

Steps taken to fix

Uninstalled and reinstalled eve > Ran all system updates

Notes

Worked fine until the latest patch, could run 2 clients at a time, no dramas, this is really frustrating, as you can imagine

No patch this morning. I wonder if they are even going to fix this or just force everyone to upgrade their OS, which is quite inconvenient.

Yeah, but i'm on 10.9.2 and i'm having the same issue. Maybe it's not just the older OSx versions?

Hi all,

today i spend around 6 hours for the following things with my old Mac Pro:

1) changed the grafikcard from 5780 to 5770 go get a apple boot screen / boot logo.

2) created a usb boot device from a fresh App Store 10.9.2 mavericks download using the sfott app/script to patch the install for 32 bit uefi (my system is a 2006 Mac Pro 1.1)

3) successfully installed mavericks on a spare disk

4) successfully updated the System from the App Store

5) copied my eve programm object to the new system

i can undock and play now. it it slow because my main disk is an ssd the test disk a slow old disk, but the game seems to work again.

i will try a little more tomorrow and decide if i will upgrade my lion installation.

the process is well documented for Mac Pro but you have to have more than basic knowledge about what you do.

you didnt not get all new Mavericks features according to the forum and have to be carefully with software upgrades from apple because this magic relays on a patched boot.efi file and some patched config files.

the 10.9.2 upgrade from apple changed this files and make patched system useless until you patch them again, so keep the modified usb boot device and the documentation.

this will definitely not work with old 32 bit grafikcards !!!!!

i got a official 5770 apple card from amazon some weeks ago. this card works with the Mac Pro 1.1, the 5780 also but without boot screens. (so maybe you cannot select a boot device on this card...)

i had planned this for a longer time, ccp forced me to do it now.

i will post my final results tomorrow...

Crashing on launch, game just hangs. Error message reads "Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x0000001d at address 0x75505d5c. Do you wish to debug it?" Debugging does not work.

Due to lack of any reasonable information or action, I proceeded with the upgrade from 10.7.5 to 10.9.2. I am happy report that the upgrade did fix the issue for me.

I've been in contact with CCP Goliath over the past two days and he assures me that they are working on a fix. It sounded like they made some good progress.

So... and this is me talking... not them... hopefully in a day or two more we'll see a patch to fix the issue for us 10.7.5 users.

Hi folks,

I just tested a fix for these issues and it looks good. It should be with you all after downtime today. I'd really like to hear about how the update checks out from your side, if you could take some time to update this thread with how well it works out I'd really appreciate it!

Thank you for your patience!

Awesome! I can't confirm Quafe availability as I haven't been over there yet.

It's working just fine for me as well. Wasn't sure at first as I didn't see a patch download in. But I spawned, warped in, and was able to dock up with no issue. Now I'm autoing around for a little bit just for kicks and grins.

Logged in, grid loaded. Enabled audio. Docked in station.
Quit and restarted. Undocked. Redocked.

I'd say the fix is in. Thanks

We think we've sorted this one particular issue, but are still fielding occasional comments and data on the crash.

If you are affected, and bypass the launcher to get into the game, the patch process will likely not succeed before the error occurs. To avoid that happening, use the launcher to patch and then proceed as usual.

Sledge would be popping on to say this himself, but he's being fanfested just now.

Imagine my joy this morning when after having updated my OS to 10.9.2, and playing the game yesterday, the new patch this morning (5-1) has completely broken the eve client on my machine. Now, when I launch the game, all I get is the log in screen and the spinning wheel. Great job.

Have successfully re-installed the client with the 5-1 patch and now we are back in space. Toons are rejoicing. For any other game it would have been the deathblow, but with no alternative to EVE out there in scope and general awesomeness, we sometimes must go through agony.
