Issues, Workarounds & Localization

As described above, ever since few months ago my EVE client freezes completely for a good 5, sometimes closer to 10 seconds when loading, for example, the employment history or portrait of a new character. Same thing happens when searching for items on the market, which makes buying anything a PITA. I don't remember doing anything or fiddling with any settings that might have caused this. I have cleared cache and deleted all the log files to no avail. The problem existed before clearing cache, so the deleted portraits etc. can't be the problem. I remember there always being a bit of lag when looking at characters corp history but nothing of this scale.

Any solutions other than reinstall the whole game?
