Please remove the ability for players to name ships/POS mods.

I've noticed this ability is abused on a regular basis by a staggeringly huge number of players.

Some of the vilest, sexually deviant, racist messages lurk in ship hangars everywhere.

Furthermore, I am required to look at them everytime I 'Show Info' on a ship or hit the D-Scan button.

This applies to POS modules as well - and its vitally important CCP act on this before POSes spread to nearly EVERY system in EVE.

I get tired D-scanning systems and finding POS mods named 'Dead N***** Storage' for instance. (Yes, Pulp Fiction reference, but highly inappropriate in any game for 12 year-olds.)

While I suppose it could be dealt with via the petition system, I don't think CCP will take action because they are uninterested in removing racists and/or sexual deviants from the EVE Community. They pay subscriptions after all, and aren't doing something dangerous and subversive like doubling your ISK and encouraging a singalong on Teamspeak.

No. The cleanest and fairest method is to completely remove the ability to rename structures and ships in the first place. I hope to see this in the next large expansion.

You do realize that there is a petition system for this, which incidentally is also a whole lot more efficient than posting threads on the forum.

what? pick your battles... if this is the most important thing you want to change in eve maybe it's time for you to try a different game.
