T3 frigs have been hinted at for literally years. I want them lots but I dont think they'll ever exist at this point!

Here's your hint:

The ships each fall into one of three categories.

One category will be fairly low impact for most players but still represent cool addition(s) to the game that I think many players will enjoy seeing.
One category fill a void that we've wanted to cover for quite a while.
One category provides more advanced version(s) of one of the most popular ships classes in EVE.

3 - can only be T2 Venture.
1 - is interesting... but will probably end up being a variant of the leopard thats a bit slower but can be manufactured. Or an SoE noob ship...
as for 2 - gang link capable destroyers to roll out with upcoming link changes....

Calling the following:

Tech 2 Attack Battlecruisers. *Maybe* as stargate-using, smaller versions of dreadnaughts (with some weaker version of siege) that make killing POSes in low wormholes and highsec more viable.

Some new mining ship

A non-racial ship that is more disposable than a HIC (from CONCORD LP maybe) that can point supercaps but cannot use bubbles.

3 will not be the T2 Venture, the clue is in 'version(s)'.

Also it cannot be pirate ships, as that would require 5 or 6 ships if you include SOE.

By process of elimination, it has to be advanced versions of the empire race ships as that would equal 4 new ships, so numbers would add up.

I am guessing it will be navy destroyers.

Number 2 could be the T2 venture, perhaps with a covert ops cloak. Although perhaps not.

Number 1, I have no idea what that could be.

An Iteron variant that sacrifices even the little tank of the original for a PLEX hold?

The "s" is a could be a plural, not will be a plural.

"One category will be fairly low impact for most players but still represent cool addition(s) to the game that I think many players will enjoy seeing."

Well since you said "additions(s)" I can only assume it will either be a new-type of ships (among other types such as Recon/Logistics/etc), or new t2 versions of existing ships. But as you said it will have low impact, we can probably rule out all of the 'combat'/'support'/mining ships

"One category fill a void that we've wanted to cover for quite a while."

Not much to go on here. Voids, what voids? Faction Destroyers/BC maybe.

"One category provides more advanced version(s) of one of the most popular ships classes in EVE."

More Faction/Pirate ships? Or maybe ... I don't think you would add T3 BC since, that would take away some of the specialty in T2 BS and T3 cruisers. A similar situation would also happen if you added more T2 Destroyers or T3 Destroyers - both would also take away the specialty in frigates and Cruisers. So maybe these are not combat ships as well...

You see that huge gap between Deep Space Transports and the Fenrir? Yes, right there the gigantic ... void. Shocked

And this is an industry themed expansion, so it's likely that industry ships are going to be added and PVPers don't get anything directly*.

*which of course is wrong, because PVPers get soo much more to shoot at with this expansion, they don't need new ships.

Well, let's see.

1) The new Tournament Prize ships most likely. Guristas based it seems.
Very low impact, as hardly anyone will own one of these babies.

2) tricky, no real ideas from me on this one.

3) Would guess mining ships, so a T2 Venture perhaps?

Its more likely rare / limited edition ships with no real bonusses but some fancy paintjob.

My guesses (and the weights I'd give the accuracy thereof):

CCP Fozzie wrote:

The Whiptail and the Chameleon, Guristas Intercepter frigate and Force Recon Cruiser, Alliance Tournament XII prizes. (70%, because saying "we're adding 6 news ships" is 50% cooler than saying "we're adding 4 new ships", even if the common player will probably never see these, let alone own one)

CCP Fozzie wrote:
One category fill a void that we've wanted to cover for quite a while.
The Freyja, the Helga and the Katla, Mordu's Legion battleship, cruiser and frigate, filling the missing Caldari/Minmatar non-empire-faction "void". (60%, mostly because of the names)

CCP Fozzie wrote:

The Prospect, a Tech-3 Ore Industrial/Mining Barge (counts as only 1 ship, but is multiple version(s)). (40%, because I don't entirely trust CCP to finally hand something awesome to spaceborn miners / industrialists)

The problem is CCP will have to use exisisting models if they are going to create new T2 ships.

It would be nice to see a New t2 BC group focused on DPS, however the current commands have good dps as it is, make something more powerful and BS become obsolete

A new T3 class would be nice but it would have to be destroyer size rather than frigate

New faction lines would be nice for the factions that haven't got any in existance currently

I'm inclined to bet on a third, specialized hauler for each of Caldari and Amarr.
A small portion of the community would really like a fuel block hauler, so I'd give one of them a fuel block bay. The other one? ... Honestly, I'm not sure. I'm open to suggestions here.

ETA: Someone posted this on reddit: "Damn, a hauler designed to haul ships would be damn useful. I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but by Odins beard it would be useful." There's always the Orca, and industrials are traditionally so poorly tanked it'd not be worth it, but it'd be interesting. If there were a ship that could move 5-10 fitted frigates around without being a gank magnet, that would be really cool.

I would like to see them tweak the Scorpion to be missile focused, and get a big kin damage bonus. New gallente and minmatar ships would be very interesting; gallente BS with a point range bonus, and minmatar that gets web range bonus. Would be nice if they all balanced well enough.

Scorpion changes to just 5 launchers and a 10% bonus to kinetic damage and 10% ecm effectiveness,

Geddon stays the same, a new amarr attack battleship comes in that's an "attack" battleship with a firing rate bonus,

Gallente get something with a decent point range bonus and basic drone bonuses,

Minmatar get something with web range bonus and damage. Tempest gets a gun or two and switches firing rate bonus to tracking.

This is what I would like to see. :D

So... basically a Battleship with... Dreadnaught DPS and Dreadnaught tank?

I'd be down for a miniature Phoenix - it would be great for structure bashing in high-sec.
