One of my favorite things about their country is the issues they are having with deforestation because they use wood to power their... cars.

Yep, not even kidding. The sanctions make gasoline unviable, so they have wood powered vehicles.

You know they once landed a man on the sun, and brought him back
..erm

Some people are like Slinky's, Not much good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

And all in just 22 hours, 4 hours there, 18 back.

Cut them a little slack, will you? It's hard to find trees on the moon.

I heard they had to grow half of the trees they used for the return trip.

I like the ladies in #19. They're kind of like World War II aviator women. If World War II had had aviator women.

Female WWII Pilots: The Original Fly Girls

Wow! I had no idea. Those ladies are kind of hot too. (This subthread is kind of reminding me of Beatles "Lovely Rita.") Did they wear lipstick like that while flying over Normandy? Who knows, they actually may have.

U.S. female pilots were not sent (intentionally, anyway - things happened) into combat situations in WWII, so afaik there were none over Normandy. Soviet female pilots were the only women pilots to go into combat on purpose during that war (German soldiers called them Nacthexen [night witches] and hated them).
One of the main jobs for female U.S. pilots in relation to the European war was to fly planes over the Atlantic and deliver them to bases in the UK. Iceland was actually the main refueling stop for that.

Nr 19: "That's funny. You die last"

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.
