For all that **** talking the "marauders" only managed to kill 2 ships and still lost the isk battle. And have no outgoing wars. Are they being a popular merc group, yet?

Ok I was wrong, Merril's marauders haven't even gotten a single kill or engagement. All damages have been by their one random ally. A++

OP: Sorry for coming to the thread late...

I think the underlying issue here is (perhaps innocently) you marketed your group based on a raw battleclinic ranking, which then didn't fully contrast real ability against your competitors. Perhaps unintentionally you thus 'called them out'.

In response, for other would-be clients reading (and because you started mentioning 'stats'), said competitors might retort...

You:
Kill:Death ratio: 2:1, losing a ship for every 2 killed
Ranking: 7,073

Other well-known and solid mercs:
Kill:Death ratio: 8:1 and..jesus, 70:1
Ranking: 106 and 208

Notice how even the one ranked 208 'might' be debated as 'better' (cough) by some measures than the one ranked 106, based just on its K:D ratio?

The point is, stay away from quoting stats in a vacuum, because someone else will always have better stats; the key is to build up a reputation, of advertising what you do and then delivering on your promises, backed by customer positive referrals instead.

IMHO.

*roasts some more marshmellows*

Came to see typical merc advert thread, watched it turn into a Benny Hill episode, left satisfied.
