So I recently started hanging out in Syndicate and working with a fleet out there.
Marking safes, instawarps, tacticals, etc.
Across coms comes, Hurricane pointed in xxxx off the gate.
I was in my atron and thought, giggity.
Since I’d been scouting the system between that gate and the gate I was on the other side of, it wasn’t too long before I added my point, web and Fed Navy Antimatter to the fray.
I’m ducking and weaving, slipping sideways like a pro. Roll
Then I hear across coms, “Cyno up, everyone leave”.
I blinked.
My sky was suddenly filled with members from the Goon alliance.
I was yellow boxed then my shields started to drop. I noticed someone dropped a bubble so I wasn’t warping away.
But, I was right on the gate. Jump, damn it! Jump!
Ship gone. Feeling like that dream where you’re in school and naked and you didn’t bring your homework.
Nothing but Pod. Jump I say!

Podded.





That was awesome.


I’ve learned a lot in the last couple days.
Careful where you launch your Scorch Bombs.
Rats web out here. (Neither lesson cost a ship)
Pay attention to what clone you are paying for when you re-update your med clone.
I only needed the 70m skill point clone. Bought something way too high. (lesson cost 83m)
When they say, “Cyno up. Everyone leave” I’m not hanging around. (lesson cost Atron. Expected and gladly paid)
A few other lessons that I’m still digesting.

How do you slip sideways in an Atron? Did CCP add 'strafe' to the game?




Ive only ever been able to warp sideways. I need to practice more.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Ganked?! In Null Sec?!

Preposterous! Everyone knows that only happens in High Sec and is done exclusively by all the Null Sec Cartels working together to make the life of their mortal enemies the High Sec residents a living hell!

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

Yeah, it was a bit misleading and pseudo dramatic as a title for my post.

But, I didn't think 'Holy batshit what a blast!' was appropriate, nor likely to be allowed by the filter.

Lessons to be learned here:

  1. You cannot jump a gate when you have a Weapons Timer.
  2. You cannot jump a gate when you have a Session Timer.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

Yeah, I've managed that too, but unintentionally. Must be some glitch in the ion thruster firmware of the Atron. Hope they fix it soon - this always makes me space sick. Straight

bascially for 30seconds after you stop firing you cannot jump
