If it was one of those round nose bullets from 1880s, it would have gone even less.

Water resistance is more mighty than expected. Those solar panel fin things on Min ships must be pretty damn sturdy. Or maybe they have some kind of magical tech dispeller field to reduce the space oil's resistance.
