What is a realistic expectation in regards to what CCP promises?

As we head towards another fanfest, I think it is time to reflect on a couple of the things that were promised last fanfest but are yet to manifest.

Three notable examples.
1. The EVE mobile ap, which apparently we were meant to have "in our hands" by this next Fanfest.
2. The vet station which was meant to be released (as a point release in Rubicon apparently).
3. Don't get me started on what was promised as coming "soon" in Dust 514 last year.

This isn't meant to be yet another "where is it CCP?" thread (but seriously CCP, where is it?), but given we are all about to have another dose of CCP kool-aid shoved down our collective throats, I'm curious what do you think is a realistic expectation on what CCP can deliver compared to what they promise?

Salt and silent hope. Mostly salt though.

The Coreli Corporation is recruiting.

Just like EVE Politics!

Believe half of what you see and nothing that you hear.

Surprisingly... those aren't bad estimates. However, it does seems as though CCP is less prone to over-promise these days. I imagine the Incarna fiasco had a lot to do with this.

Pragmatically, considering the track record, it can safely be said that you can expect empty promises.

Divide the promised content by 2 then take half off it, should be realistic enough. :)

I dunno, I remember the fanfest with uber cool graphics about PI.

PI and libraries where you could manufacture skill books, district wars with your neighbors over pollution and overpopulation, and all kinds of neat stuff. Instead we got a click fest, that had to be redesigned and has now little to no game value in itself once it's setup.

So take everything with a grain of salt, strip the promised content down to its bare essence (remove the cool stuff) and that is probably what ends up on TQ. :/

More begging and pleading from CCP to stay subscribed because their great, new shiny should be available "soon"?

Not true. Statistically it's more likely that a politician will deliver on a promise than CCP.
