I'm a pve player (right this moment I'm shooting Sanshas in a mission) and even I know EVE is a pvp game.

PVE in EVE is a tool used for various reasons (to ake isk to do other things, to have fun, to build standings or gain materials to build other in game items) where as PVP (not just spaceship pvp but all kinds of conflcit interacitons) is the underlying purpose of the game.

The key people who created EVE Online were Ultima Online PVPrs, and they made a PVP centric game. You are probably to new to understand that, but if you'd ask questions more and opine less you might learn something.

EvE is a game with PvP, yes. It's also a game with PvE, making it a PvE game. It's a PvE game, It's a PvP game, and it's many other games as well. That's one of the things that makes EvE "worth a damn". Is the potential appeal for a wide array of people.

Super Mario Brothers is not a spelunking game. It will never be a spelunking game no matter how many people throw themselves into a bottomless pit.

You can even claim that in your opinion Super Mario Brothers is a spelunking game. But an opinion not based in fact is more properly called a delusion. No amount of opinion changes the fact that Super Mario Brothers is about killing magic reptiles in a pipe filled fantasy land the creator dreamt up while on drugs.

That's cool. Thanks for telling me about Super Mario brothers.

EvE is still a PvE game though. If it weren't, PVE wouldn't exist. PvP exists too, which makes EvE also a PvP game.

Except within EvE, not using 3rd party software, you cannot engage in prostitution, you cannot engage in exotic dancing, or stripping. Those might exist as tradeable commodities, but in no way within EvE can you actually partake in that behavior. Meaning it is not a game of prostitution, exotic dancing, and stripping.

PvE is a feature of EvE one can actively participate in, meaning it is a PvE game. PvP is a feature of EvE one can actively participate in, meaning it is a PvP game.

But you cannot actively, within EVE, participate in the examples you provided.

It was a nice try though, definitely humorous.

Karous. No. False. Whether deliberately, or because you are stupid, you misrepresent what have said.

I dont want any more security for myself, or for high sec. Infact I generally support reduction of safety throughout EVE.

With one exception, brand new rookie players. Some of them have not played anything similar before. Some dont even understand the UI until just before their trial ends. Start a trial alt and watch Rookie chat. Do it, and then come back to comment in a somewhat informed manner about what the rookie experience is like for many at this point in the games cycle.

They can leave the rookie systems whenever they want, so your pathetic attempt to derail the sentiment as "bubble wrapping" is transparent, juvenile and I laugh in your face for it and feel vindicated yet again at how superior I am to you.

The new players need incubation and an environment in which to learn. The tutorials help, but it takes time and no small sequence of baby steps, and many many mistakes as well, for them to get even a tentative grasp of the ropes. Those who will stay in EVE and who have what it takes, will invariably and inevitably leave the "nest" of the rookie systems and take the plunge out of the tree, hopefully to catch wing. The more players that can be retained to that stage, the better. Those are the ones that stick.

Goonguys suggestion of new player focused corps was valid. That is something the community can do.
I volunteer him to put his money where his mouth is and do exactly that.

O no, that's you. Look in your own post, you said that, not me.

I'm saying EvE is a PvE game because it has PvE.

You know what, you're actually right. My sincere apologies.

Eve is a game of pimping. There are multiple missions for many factions where you can move and or sell the services of prostitutes, exotic dancers, and strippers. Further, many players will pay a marked up fee for these individuals in the correct context.

Pimping ain't easy, but someone's gotta do it. Cool

But something could be done to incubate new players a bit more till they are ready for the plunge.
The learning curve is no joke, and some people need a little more guidance and longer to come to grips.
Its no skin off anyone elses nose if they can have a bit of insulation, especially while still running the tutorials.

I dont mean for high sec overall, I mean specifically in the rookie systems.

You know what would help new players? Nerfing highsec, restricting NPC corp members to new citizens and character trading forums, and rewarding corporations that have a large focus on helping out new players. Sort of like BRAVE used to do before they got corrupted by test.

I love how "insulate" is the new buzzword to try and get around asking for newbies to be bubble wrapped.

Get the hint, carebear apologists. Bubble wrapping new players just makes the inevitable fall harder. You are all asking to functionally HURT new players just to further your agenda towards perfect safety and themepark gameplay. It's so selfish it's sickening.

Basically this, you hurt newbies by wrapping them in bubble wrap then when they finally get knocked over telling them HTFU. Its much easier for them to learn the painful lessons when they don't have much wealth. Instead of letting them grind up a 10b isk autism chariot in near-perfect safety that I will eventually awox.

Maybe that's why everyone keeps saying that EVE is full of jerks. No room for a conscience in the pimp game.

You consistently resort to insulting people. Not me though. I might be getting attacked alot, but I'm mounting the appropriate defense and explaining the validity of my statements without needing to insult the aggressors intelligence to establish and maintain my points.

You tend to snap and begin diminishing your own self worth by proving you're unable to maintain dignity by keeping conversations civil, while I do no such thing.

So with the opposition to an Ultra-Sec no longer choosing to voice their opinions against it's implementation, the only logical step to take now would be for CCP to convert 19 high security systems into "Ultra-Sec"?

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
