That's strange. Even when i start with Steam, Eve launcher pops and asks for password. Have you tried in administrator mode?

Right click on launcher/ properties/ compatibility/ launch as administrator?

well, i have one character on there that has 5 months training, and another that i spent plex on for dual training, has 3 months, plex is about £17 each in the uk, so that would be 68 quid for both of characters to be moved, i'l try put up with it in the hope it's fixed i think.

Yeah it can be expensive for sure. But, for your info and to clarify a bit. When most sell a character on the bazaar, the transfer costs 2 plex, which are bought on the eve market for isk. This amount (currently 1.4Billion) is cooked into the selling price of the toon. If you were selling a toon, (In your case, selling it to yourself to transfer it to a normal account), you would either buy the plex on the eve market if you have the isk, OR you would pay the transfer fee directly to CCP in account management. For you, that would be £17 per toon, so £34 to transfer off both toons. This can only be done one toon at a time and takes 10hrs to process.

I got my account through steam too, and I find it mightily annoying. Waiting for steam to launch, waiting for some useless update to Steam to download, waiting for the update to install, waiting for the connection to Steam server, looking at some error message informing me the connection couldn't go through. Back to square one: waiting for steam to launch, waiting for steam to ... ARGH. Steam is trying to beat iTunes as the most annoying piece of software ever to disgrace the universe.

It seems very simple. As others have said.

1). Buy a 3rd account.

2). Pay 20 bucks to transfer your Character to the new account just as though you were selling it. (Or Characters)

3). Abandon the Steam Account.

Cost a few bucks sure, but it may be well worth it in the long run...

The End

Oh and avoid Steam like the plague...
