Computer issues while eve is running and after i turn it off.

When i start up eve every so often (between 15-30 min) i get a stutter where my whole machine freezes for a half second to - three seconds, except when i run google chrome. then whenever i load a new web page it really lags and stutters badly. the only thing that fixes it is a reboot. before i run eve. chrome and every other program no matter what it is runs fine. no stutters nothing. i start eve and then i get them.


system specs
CPU i7-3770k stock clocks
RAM 16gb ddr3 1866mhz
motherboard asus z77 sabertooth
Realtek HD audio driver version 6.0.1.6699
video card Sapphire radeon 6950 dirt 3 edition 2 gigs of ram. driver version 12.251
120 gig intel ssd
2 tb seagate hard drive 64mb cache 7200 rpm sata 6.0gbit (this is the drive eve is installed on)
1tb seagate hard drive 64mb cache 7200 rpm sata 3.0gbit
1tb raid 0 array WD hard drives 32mb cache 7200rpm sata 3.0gbit each (2 500gig drives)
1 blue ray reader dvd burner drive.
OS windows 8.1 automatic updates turned on.
