Please give a pat on the back and a beer to the person that thought of the planet transition effect in the warp. Seriously, warping through planets was something that always bugged me visually with the current warp effect and this is such a gorgeously done solution. Seeing the glint of light opening into the tunnel on the way out is probably my new favorite visual in the game.

The distortion effect is missing for me completely. I wrote a bug report about it -> ID 315129

If noone else have similar issues than it's possible that my vga have some problems. It died once completely and cooking it was the only way to make it work again just like that:

So it is possible that the problem is in my computer :D

I had this issue once, and submitted a report for it via the in-game bug reporting tool immediately. At the same time I was having this problem, planet models weren't rendering properly for me. Really weird.

The warp effect appears to be disrupting graphics of ships, during or while warping the windows/lights on ships get all blurry, and the only thing that seems to fix it seems to be relogging (something i've had to do ALOT today)

Mac OS X 10.6.8
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Thanks Chaosjj, I heard about this an hour ago from a colleague. It appears to be Mac (nvidia GPU) hardware related, I’ll look into it tomorrow.

This also happens to me in ATI 5770 Crossfire Win7 64bit so it's not MAC specific. Colours and blurryness distort around the edge and you sometimes the warp goes sideways. Like oily rainbow coming off the side of your ship ha. Also when changing graphics settings everything goes rainbow coloured for a few seconds.

Right now the warp effect apply to the tactical overlay, which feels wrong somehow. Don't know if it's working as intended.

Noticed there are issues with warping though stars with this. Any plans on a fix?

Do you have any video of how this looks like?

I noticed that today's build doesn't have the dispersion effect while warping. You can see it in this screenshot, which was taken from yesterday's build. Is this change permanent? I hope not, because I really like that effect!

If you can't spot the dispersion, it's really noticeable in the white sections on the upper right of the image. It's the rainbow looking effect.

Please bring dispersion back!

I will check with the graphics programmer to see what is happening with the dispersion effect, we have done a lot of work to the warp tunnel today which should be in the update tomorrow.

Yes PLEASE bring it back or just reset to yesterday's style and leave it at that. The effect today is still good but lacks the real wow of yesterday's.

Good to hear, after all the warp effect is one of the most common effects you see in EVE so you may as well give it the love and attention it deserves.

Dispersion was definitely the wow factor for me too.

Everything is cool.

I have one thing to request - remember that "I was there" trailer? It had that awesome effect when ship starts to warp - like an energy wave blast. Will it make into the game in near future or it will stay only as a wow effect for the trailer?

Very nice job. I was surprised that you guys put in the planet transition, very nice effect, the whole warping through planets thing with no visual cue was really lame.
