So August will make one year that I have been playing (its almost been a year since fountain. which brought me to the game) and when i first started I proclaimed on these forums about zomg pewing in ships = much adrenaline , such wow. Annnnd than i had the vets come in...NO YOU CANT HAVE FUN, THAT ADRENALINE WILL WEAR OFF!! they proclaimed. well, i took a month off recently as RL had me going in every direction imaginable except the direction that led to my computer. Ive been back 4 days, and have won 4 fights, lost 6 almost 200 mil isk and have had a smile on my face the entire time. When you have a thrasher in structure when youre in an atron and you dont get all shaky, you're playing the game wrong., or have extremely low blood pressure and should seek medical attention.

To the new players coming in, SP doesnt matter, you wanna pvp? go pew, lose ships, for the love of the amarrian gods have fun, worry about thermodynamics later, learn about tracking, and tracking speed, just play how you wanna play. to the bitter vets who said that adrenaline would wear off, you were massively wrong and in a way i wish you still experinced the game as I do, with a smile, not by station spinning, but buy watching 13 million isk go up in a spectacle of fire and sparks with the words capsule ejected above where youre modules used to be. we may all proclaim EVE = RL but until i sit in a condor with light missles and warp to a sun at 100km its a game, have fun guys

TL;DR: Bitter vets are wrong, much pew, such boom, many wow, and grr goons (i think that covers everything)

Once upon a time I was just like you!

So young and inexperienced.

When I first did PVP, I had the shakes, my heart was pounding away, sweated bullets. Over time you got used to it and these slowly faded away. You missed "the rush" so you went onto other forms of PVP. Ganking, awoxing, large engagements, you name it!

The more you pew pew, the faster it goes away!

So, congratulations on your 4 kills! That's "impressive".......no no it really is!

And, since I don't get the shakes anymore, that means I have low blood pressure or I don't know how to play the game anymore?

Really? Bold statement!

Came, expecting to see something that greatly offended me..... left disappointed, and that's actually okay.

Good to see noobs jumping into the fray and enjoying PvP, instead of complaining about SP gaps, and demanding dumb crap.

Bittervets won't tell you stuff like that. Bittervets are the ones you obviously listened to. Don't let the title fool you. We're not really all that bitter. We just get really tired of the noobs who demand the game be re-tailored to give them the advantage.

PS: I've been doing this since day 1, and I *still* get the jitters, in PvP. It doesn't go away, and that's one of the many reasons I love EVE.

Now THATS the testimonial ive been wanting! i fought someone today who is a 2008 character, he even told mee in local i was hitting like a truck (i lost) and he was scared for an instant i would win! i got a good chuckle out of that and gave a gf and o7 in local and reshipped :)

When you finally earn that nifty little gold "top ranked" badge, on Battleclinic, you'll be happy you stuck with the PvP path

Personal experience, mate :)

After a while it will, up until last year ganking mining barges only gave me the "the shakes" now, not anymore!

Trust me, "bittervets" know more about this game then you do. Claiming you know more then the vets make me laugh!

that will be cool but i dont care about that, i love when someone asks to see my fit, or they ask if my cap stable single rep incursus is dual rep because im perma tanking them, its the little things about pvp, how you get all jittery, how you make sure your dcu is on, all your mods are overheated etc, to me thats what matters, the moments leading up to pressing f1

Don't be silly. I will go pew pew with reckless abandon but SP *do* matter. And if I'm station spinning it's because I'm trading or scamming.

I'll disagree there, if you go out to have fun SP doesnt matter, if you go out looking to win, well thats something entirely different, I undock because I have fun, not because i want to harvest tears

Posting your killmails is really all about "bragging rights". Having fun should be your main goal in PvP. But being able to look back on BC and see exactly HOW MUCH fun you've had in EVE.... well, that's always a nice feeling. All I'm saying, by mentioning that.

RE: my last post.... also note that LOSING a ship can be just as much fun as killing somebody else's. But I suspect OP has already discovered this.
