I disagree miss; I think you're balancing your cost-benefit calculation improperly. This purchase has little to do with the replacement costs of the ships. This is as much about communication and brand management as it is about retribution.

Opportunities that are this visible are very rare, and worth the cost in my (admittedly poor) estimation.

That's one way to look at it.

Speaking of looks, I notice you changed yours, looks good.

I am now ready and willing, after reviewing the facts and preparing, to defend these good patriots of the state with as many of my lives as it takes, at any cost. Heth is gone to us, but his vision is not. We must find a way to eliminate the corruption that currently infests our State, to get back on the path of restoring our state's dignity.

Ishukone would like to beg the Gallente for the return of our home to Caldari administration and the CEP is responding by whipping them with a wet lettuce, if even that, about their deception and the depth of their executive's treason whilst Tibus Heth was attempting to restore Caldari strength and reunify us with Caldari Prime. Our ancestors are no doubt turning in their graves. It is the duty of any remaining Caldari patriots and provists to defend what we can of the Providence Directorate against the scavengers who wish to take up arms against the Caldari State's renewal and resurrection for, admittedly, a lot of ISK from a corrupt CEP and Ishukone, at the expense of all people who call themselves a part of the Caldari State.

Now? After watching those stolen ships going down like a working girl on Fleet Day? Now you're willing to throw your lot in with a bunch of dead men walking?

Excellent threat assessment, there...

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Reviewing Mssr. Tsukaya's broadcast history, I have to say that far from bravery (no matter how ill-advised), I perceive some amount of cowardice and laziness in the way he's thrown himself behind the Provist cause only after it started to fail. As generally reprehensible as other IGS Provist supporters (and their support itself) are, they were at least there from the beginning, when the idea was unpopular, they supported it in the mercifully brief time in which it was popular, and now they'll hopefully drown with it now that the ship is definitively sinking. Mssr. Tsukaya, in contrast, joined in at a very late stage, perhaps hoping to get all the benefits of acting like a martyr (despite the fact that he's a capsuleer and can't really die) without actually having done any of the hard work.

Also, yeah, on a more basic level it is pretty stupid to have publicly thrown one's support behind a group of individuals whose life expectancy can be confidently measured in days, and only increases by any amount whatsoever when a group of capsuleers wants to use them as bait to farm more killmails.

I heard the plexes offered are those that have been seized from parties engaged in illegal trading.

And they're going right back to some of the same organizations.

Biggest money laundering scheme ever. Caldari State washes dirty PLEX for nullsec blocs. Gutter Press, get on this!

Hey, if it's profitable and the State winds up with a better-financed military at the end of it, I'm not complaining.

"Uehuma Inikas and Arano Kokkara have been spotted in the Urpiken constellation! 40 PLEX bounty on each!" This latest transmission from sources close to the DED was received not long ago.

The actual location of the vessels has not yet been revealed, but this post will be updated as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Okagaiken has been confirmed as the location in question. PL are rumoured to have redeployed rapidly to this latest sighting, with a multitude of other entities not far behind.

UPDATE: Lucas Raholan of SFRIM has claimed final blow on the capsule of Uehuma Inikas, with PL commanding control of the battlefield in many respects. Gorgons showing up to ensure they didn't claim dominance over cruiser damage and some final blows has upset the previous complete dominance of PL in these bounty hunting activities. Could this be a sign of things to come as the rest of these traitors are brought to justice?

Of course it is. As they show their faces they are going to get murdered.

I seriously doubt there is any other eventual outcome

You misread my statement. I meant is this a sign of increasing challenges to the masterful control PL has, until now, shown in their execution of these criminals. The death of these Provists is something you can guarantee at this point.

Think PL let them have a shot and get a couple of PLEX to stem complaints and lead to a larger killboard next time?

Todays manhunt saw two Provist captials deployed!

Provists Uehuma Inikas and Arano Kokkara fall at Okagaiken

Initially, Pandemic Legion had total dominance, but right at the end, contenders showed up, in the form of the Gorgons. In a frantic 5 minute fight, PL lost claim on a substanial part of the PLEX bounty. Others also profited from this chaos to claim their stakes. The error PL made was to copy their Akkio engagement and expect nobody would see through it.

An inetresting note is this, as no Battlecruiser damage has been done on the Chimera, the bounty for this is transfered to Most Battlecruiser damage on Saara Humo's Capital ship. This means that anyone who managed to get even a single shot off on the Chimera with his Battlecruiser, he'd been awarded the PLEX bounty.

In truth I must state that much profit will/have/had been made. In hope really. This will support the Guristas and maybe the opportunity to gain more. As stated by my superiors: For Freedom and Profit.

The name Provist was used by Caldari patriots, who were enforcing meritocratic reforms in the State.

These guys are just regular ship thieves, typical gurista, who defame good Provists name.

With the dissolution of the CPD there is no longer a monopoly on that name I am afraid. Even if these individuals were to be Guristas claiming the Provist name (a decision I can't fathom any logical reason for), no official Provist remains to draw the distinction.

At this point, the only distinction to be made between a Provist and a Gurista is that the latter's benefactors claim a large tract of territory and a successful track record.

It is rather sad, that jaijii can't distinguish Provists from Gurista.
This is rather simple.
1) Guristas are member of criminal organization. Provists are member of disbanded CPD, they are regular workers from all corporations, who didn't commit any crime.
2) Guristas are scavengers and salvagers. They will steal everything that is not screwed in. And what is screwed, they will unscrew and steal.
3) Provists, on other hand, were enforcing meritocratic rules in different corporations.
4) Guristas are more like gallenteans, individuals, who steal stuff for themselves.
5) Provists were instead working for the whole Caldari people, uniting peoples of different corporations under common national goals.
6) Guristas are known for inappropriate appearance and behaviour
7) Provists were well trained and equipped personnel, wearing uniform, like very proper citizens.

1) Yes, we are a criminal organization. We are proud of this knowledge in stating that we are pirates. But unlike us, Provist’s are considered terrorists. Even to some Caldari corporations and groups.

2) We are not scavengers like what you mean. We only get what we need, and what is vital to our operations. We are not simple minded poor nullsec scavengers, that wait for a fight to finish, to loot and pillage a battle. We fight for what we need and want. Which thank’s for the free Chimera.

3) Provist’s are thugs, brutes and hand’s down murderers. You steal, threaten, kill and demand order amongst the Caldari. You seek to have a tyrannical state system implemented by a man who had gotten lost with power, and try to uphold his terroristic ways. Arson, bombings, street violence, instigate riots and other means to get their way’s across. And you call us the monsters.

4) We accept all from the other three empires. Not just Caldari Citizens and ex-military personnel. Minmatar, Amarrian, and even Gallentean citizens and their ousted or awoxing military personnel. We accept them all, because unlike you, we are not racist in the sense to deny someone who may have a specific set of skills that can be used to our advantage. We are not will to readily deny someone access into seeing them become a Guristas.

5) And this part? This part makes me laugh and sick at the same time. Like I stated in #3, Provists will do anything to get the state to work hand in hand. Uniting people by public executions for someone committing acts of violence against other people who mind their own business or say even the simplest of questionings towards the Caldari MegaCorps, or towards the Caldari Top Naval/Army brass. What do we do? Join us, or leave us alone. Or possibly pay us, as that helps in more ways than one. Who do we have coming to us? People that wish to escape your view’s and systematic, tyrannical, violent government. We protect mining colonies, outposts and other wayward people within our own borders, and those even within other borders.

6) We may appear inappropriate in appearance, and have a very bad misconducting behavior, but at least we know who and what we are. We are free people. Free to choose and do what we wish and what is right. We know the difference from right and wrong more than you know the difference from Kakki and Intaki.

7) We are Guristas. We are well trained. In fact we have a number of Ex-Caldari capsuleer’s, pilots and ground troops, who willingly joined us. Not to mention other empire faction members that did. And you obviously have not seen us in a proper military display. And you say we are not well trained or equipped well? We stole a Wyvern, Multiple carriers and battleships. Mid-day Operation, in plain sight. If we were not trained enough to do so? Then it seem’s we are horrible at our job. Thank you by the way for getting Korako Kosakami’s new ship.

Diana Kim, you are obviously oblivious to what we Guristas are capable of. You ignore the fact that we more than just simple-minded pirates. We are not a simple bug for you to stomp on your tiny little boot and incinerate us. We are here to stay, and we are here to be a thorn in the Caldari’s back.
We are more well trained than you think we are. We are more well equipped than you think we are. We are capable of performing actions and stunts that will even shock “you”.

We are but humble pirates.
For Freedom and Profit.

As interesting as that is, Ber Kan, it is not awfully relevant to the on-going events except for in the most tangential, limited manner. I would be interested to hear more of your opinions on the Guristas, possibly your personal experiences of having dealt with them in your time as a capsuleer and how you came to choose them as a force to bind yourself to philosophically. But I would also invite you to start a new thread to discuss it.

Back on track, I'd like to thank Jandice for her frequent and high quality reporting from her independent galnet site, and all of those who have been using various clusterwide social media to keep us informed. Many individuals have been absolutely vital to correcting or updating information received while I have been out of pod, and I'd invite anyone with reliable, sourced information to provide updates here.

Current areas of special interest from my perspective are; the organisations or individuals taking the lion's share of the bounties and the trend-breaking capsuleers defying the established status-quo in the harvesting of PLEX in return for the destruction of enemies of the State.
