YOU HAVE TO FIT YOUR SHIPS TO TANK WHEN YOU ARE DISCONNECTED. LOL. That's funny. What a great game.

Translation: CCP, DO MY THINKING FOR ME PLEASE.

My Machariel can't mount a bastion module, so I don't have to tank it like my Vargur in case of D/Cs (which happens because this is an internet game). But then, I don't expect CCP to make my choices for me.

Active modules remain active for a time, and it's easy to personally test. That's why a cap stable tank saves D/C'd maruaders. The time I returned after 30 minutes to my mods still active and tanking was during an emergency restart though lol.

This is precious.

Log in one more time, give someone (preferably me) all of your in-game belongings, and don't come back.

Don't give them you stuff. Fly it all to the Jovian border, space it, shoot it, and posd self. Then quit. Make it dramatic.

That is the most emo ragequit idea, ever.
That would require a lot of work, and he'd have to train into freighters to pull it off.
Of course, you also can't fit guns (or anything, really) to a freighter....

Log in and play EVE because you want to.
Because you enjoy it.
If this loss had made you realise that you don't enjoy it, then stay logged off, and be free!
Hang onto your stuff just in case. Cool

These emo attention-seekers are some of the biggest problems in EVE. I'd rather he didn't come back after this pathetic excuse for a pity-party thread.

What I will miss the most is EVE's awesome community of helpful and compassionate players.

Especially the forum-trolling ship spinners who may have actual complaints about the game, if they did something other than spin their ships. We all know bad things happen when you undock, it's much safer to not. But forum trolling is easy, fun and you get that attention that your father never gave you, which is nice.

But there are those of us who actually undock and do things in the game, and when we run into issues that really impact the gaming experience, like losing your best ISK making ship through no fault of your own, and not having it reimbursed like any other game in the MMO market would do, yea, we like to bring attention to it.

Why is the total number of "likes received" a poster has inversely proportional to the quality of posts one makes?

I wasn't being warp scrambled. I had killed all the frigs, cruisers, battlecruisers. All that was left was the battleships, my shield-tanked Vargur had around 90% shields when I noticed the game had stopped responding. The ships I was targetting just started playing the targetting sound and animation continuously. As fast as I can, I try to get the game to realize that it had lost connection to the servers, hit quit game, etc.... this is a serious problem. The game takes too long to realize it's disconnected, and in that time, I'm getting shot at. Finally the game realizes it's not connected anymore, so I can start to log back in. Within that time, all the modules on the ship deactivated, leaving me with less of a tank, and finally the bastion module deactivates but not fast enough to warp me out.

So basically CCP says, yea, you cannot insure your ships for what they're worth. SORRY. So go grind that ISK, or buy our PLEXs, but just realize, EVERYTHING is slanted against you. If you get DCed in that ship you grinded for, you might get warped out, you might not. It's a gamble.

We like to say, "You can fit your ship however you want." But you better fit it so that if you get disconnected from our server, it won't die.... when you aren't logged in. Because programming games is hard. YOU HAVE TO FIT YOUR SHIPS TO TANK WHEN YOU ARE DISCONNECTED. LOL. That's funny. What a great game.

Hey, this is the way the game works. It's EvE. Sometimes you lose, other times you lose. Everybody loses. It just takes some people longer than others.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

Underlined the part you aren't getting. DCing isn't your fault but if you are gonna fly a Marauder you need to know the current mechanics BEFOREHAND. You didn't, you paid the price for ignorance. We all have at one point, what matters is whether or not your adult enough to man up and own it or not.

They don't want people to play this game, especially people who disagree with them...

Set a long skill on train for a ship you've always wanted to fly, don't login until it finishes then drop some PLEX to get it and feel good about the game again.

Avoid the forums here, the blog sites are more helpful...

I will probably login, but only to give away my stuff.

I lose a 1.1 billion isk ship because the game disconnected from the servers in the middle of a level 4, the ship doesn't warp out and gets destroyed. I get this ticket...

If 1.1 billion or a ship is all what keeps you playing, then you may as well end your suffering and unsub.

It's clear there are deeper issues at play, otherwise you'd take the hit, deal with it and overcome.

This is why I fly cap stable and over tanked ships in missions. It may take a short while longer, but with bastion running I can't warp out on disconnect, so I want a ship that will sit there and take it. I recommend people stop worrying so much of isk/hour and consider these things in advance.

Inability to separate reality from game.... that leads to issues like issuing death threats over in-game events, and then, eventually, you get what happens with WoW players, all the time..... someone actually tries to carry it out, or worse... succeeds.

As others have written if your ship is warp scrambled or you are in Bastion mode you will not warp out. Some time after your disconnect your character will no longer control the ship though, that is, his skills will not be applied any more. This and the fact that cap or whatever runs out probably is responsible for the loss.

I can fully understand that CCP will not reimburse the ship. If they did that they'd have to reimburse anyone, because they can see no difference between an accidental disco or someone unplugging his network card once he realises he is losing the fight.

So, well, sorry for your loss. Sit down, drink a beer, cool down, and make that billion up again when you have calmed down.

And whatever you do do not give away your stuff, because even if you loathe EVE/CCP right now in a year things might be looking totally different.

Oh, one that that you CAN do when you are in that situation: start EVE a second time (you need a direct link to EXEFILE.EXE) and log back in without logging the first account off. Normally this disconnects the account and you can log on the second instance of EVE without delay.
