Just don't take an enyo up against something the same size. It is for punching up a weight class. Use your enyo to take down BC & BS. Use other things when going for smaller targets.

There is a right tool for every job. The enyo is an 8lb sledge hammer... not for finish nails.

I'm sorry but this is flat wrong. The Enyo's tracking bonus allows you to use Void with full effect against small T1 frigates. The trick is catching them and holding range, which is possible if you know what you're doing. I've demolished dual-TD Condors in two shots because A. They landed within my scram range, and B. Tracking Disruptors don't help when you have zero transversal. All combat in Eve is circumstancial. You won't win all the fights, but knowing what to expect from your opponent (common fits for the particular ship you're up against) and only engaging what you know you can most likely take makes all the difference.

A question for you, since i'm really interested in that dual prop Enyo, and i toyed with the idea but never actually flew one

How do you deal with scram kiters? With no web i figure there's no chance to avoid them dictating range easily, and higher mass would make it almost impossible to "mini slingshot" them while ABs are on..? Also null with Ions won't hit consistently if they keep at 7.5k+
I mean, it would be a pretty embarassing loss mail being killed by an Atron...

Well, here's the reasoning behind the dual-prop option. Most of my Enyos are web/scram/ab fit for sitting inside plexes and waiting for fights to come to me. Any point/mwd kiter (condors, slicers, ect) dies immediately because they land right on top of me and get scramed. Other AF's and dessys usually die because the Enyo is 3rd fastest AF behind the Wolf/Jag. But it is slower than just about all T1/faction frigates that are similarly web/scram/ab fit. Hookbill's in particular are a bane of the Enyo.

If you're not sitting in a spot where you KNOW your opponent is going to land in your lap (roaming), then you want a MWD. However, an Enyo vs a T1/faction frig and both are web/scram/mwd, the Enyo won't hold range. So, do a little math:

Enyo + AB - 60% web = x

Target -prop = base speed.

So, if you know you're up against a Hookbill that is most likely rocket/web/scram/mwd fit in your dual-prop Enyo, and the instant both ships scram each other you switch to your AB, you're going to be faster, even webbed, than the hookbill is without prop. You overheat Void and keep-at 500m, and the hooker will die before you even need to rep more often than not.

Thus, for a ship that has a slower base speed, scram/ab/mwd is better than web/scram/mwd. Won't work against everything, but works against most standard fits pretty well.

You can struggle to make an AF work, or you can use a Ranis. Plenty of fitting options if you know what you are doing and contrary to popular belief just about perfect for what you are looking to do. I prefer a dual prop, repper setup but you need at least the two low cost Geno's to make it fit.

I prefer this because it can get in and out of a situation. With the repper setup and a Nos in the extra high you can hold against neuts, even up to cruiser level because you still put out good damage.

The Comet can be set up with 125 rails to work really well too.

You will get more fights with both as well.
