Why is the mood so different on the forums than in the game?

If EVE were to die, the forum would still prosper.

Excellent post. I did have to look that up though, just to see if it was the same as John Gabriel's Greater Internet F*ckwad Theory.

Because people can mass troll on forums hiding behind forum alts without ruining the reputation of the main account they use in game

Sometimes I feel like I'm regressing mentally reading posts. Like I'm forgetting how to read english and can't make heads or tails what's being said. Then I go to other forums like Reddit and realize its the people here, not me. This forum is so disfunctional it should be shut down or massively ban people its so bad. If you want coherent thoughts go to a different site. I'm just thankful the help channel has helpful knowledgeable people willing to take time out of their gameplay to answer questions unlike here. Ultimately blame forum mods for lettting these forums become garbage by not banning people who post nonsense and north hing useful to) he topic.

I probably would've stopped playing already if it wasn't for these forums honestly.

BoBwins Law: As a discussion/war between two large nullsec entities grows longer, the probability of one comparing the other to BoB aproaches near certainty.

I have been playing eve for a few months, and other than some people, the community is pretty mature. I have interacted with quite an amount of people from all different parts and sides of the community and they usually act mature, and any hostility/hate is for a valid reason.

But then i came on the forums, it seems like people troll, be hostile towards players for absolutely no reason, lots of immaturity, lots of hate. On some help threads ive posted and read i see people who just comment on how stupid that person must be not to know that, and other similar things akin to that. Almost the complete opposite of the people in-game. Could someone mind explaining this to me?

(No offense intended to the nice people here, there are lots of you here too)

Most of your folks here on the forums are a bit more socially (albeit deviant) advanced, and create great threadnaughts to create panic and strife. It is just a continuation of the spinning ships version.

Most of your folks that log in and spin ships, do not read the forums, actually most do not even know that one exists. I guess you can say, that the 1%'rs are about the only ones that peruse and spew crap on dah' forums.
