I started playing this game like 10 months ago, and I didn't find the training times to be an issue, ever. This game has so much to learn and experience that I never really had to 'wait' for skills to train before having fun or doing meaningful things with my time. During my first 4 months of play I tried all sorts of things while I trained for combat skills. I only started pvping after I had a good understanding of how the game worked, which made things a lot easier to me at least.
