Honestly, just use pushx. I trained into and bought a JF, and never use it because it's too much hassle.

I would hate to use a JF along a cyno chain. Anywhere you can get to within a single jump (assuming jump drive V, which is quite a long train) is all good though.

I have just one tip: Fit your cyno alts with 3 x T1 webs. When the JF jumps in, initiate warp to gate. Have the cyno alt lock and triple web the JF. It should go into warp in 2 - 3 seconds. This is specifically for the last jump out of low sec into high, or the jump from high sec to null if you're jumping to a POS before warping to station when you get there. Personally I only ever jump to a POS, never to a station in null or low sec.

All in all from initiating the jump to going into warp on the other side the whole process should take less than 10 seconds.
