My humble opinion is that they made sure they are close to impossible to find both jove empire and their renegade WH brethren s.

In later case they are found by "accident"

In first they found us gave us pod tech to perform new eden wide analysis and data gathering of most brightest in attempt to back track deadly Jove decease hoping for clues in our healthy synapses.

Found none and realizing that(and possibly danger to us as well) decided to lock up any further contact for millennia to come.

They did manage to do without is for what like 10 millennia...

Been some time since I actually began a discussion here. All good things come to and end, as they say.

So, in a departure from all normal business, I thought we could take a minute to consider a subject that has been conspicuously absent from current affairs.

It begs questions.

What happened to the Jove?

Are they still alive?

If they are dead, what happened?

If alive, are they still watching us?

Why, in either case, do we know so little? Is it possible to get an answer?

Any and all questions and answers, fire away. Let's get that ball rolling. As the popular saying goes: "Foil hat time".

What happened to the Jove? Simple. They tried to interact with the rest of us, but we abused their technology and a certain Empire tried to take them over. So they shut themselves away because they realized we weren't the best people to interact with at the time.

Are they still alive? Debatable. Signals coming from the Jove Empire can be detected fairly frequently. Though the origin of these signals can be anything from Jove Ships to drones.

If they are dead, what happened? They either died off from the Jovian disease, or some sort of calamity that started as a response to their disease (warfare, a cure gone wrong, a mutation of the disease etc).

If alive, are they still watching us? Probably. But only to see if we developed something that could cure their disease or if we are doing anything that could directly or indirectly harm them. The Jove are extremely isolated and few things going on here concern them.

Why, in either case, do we know so little? Is it possible to get an answer? Like I said, they cut themselves off from the rest of the cluster and have done a good job at that. We know very little because they are good at avoiding us or remaining undetected.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

I'm pretty sure the Jove aren't dead. I strongly believe they aren't significantly weaker than they were ten years ago. If they are, they are watching us closely and we'll still hear from them. They have a lot of installations and corporations still operating in our territory. They're being operated mostly by core races, but the orders are coming from somewhere. Besides, no civilization dies off like this in such a short span of time, specially a civilization like the jovian.
