Orca:
Mining foreman/director V
Cybernetics V and mining foreman link
Warfare specialist V
Industrial Command Ships V (whatever the direct Orca skill is)

For max yield I am unaware of any implants (there probably are some)
But obviously just Mining V
Ore Processing IV (for t2 crystals, if you REALLY wanna be a hotshot, I dont think it's worth it)
Astrogeology V
Exhumers V
Then obviously you would want processing skills to refine it and perhaps manufacture.
To expand this further, train up Hull upgrades IV for the damage control and then a T2 shield tank for the orca so its not gank bait, same with the Hulks. (You are using Hulks right?)
Expansion ideas: Hauler alt, offgrid shield booster alt (if necessary) MOAR MINERS, Mining with Rorqual in low/no security space (C1 might be a good idea if you REALLY never want to be bothered in this case, and yes, I regret saying that already)

EDIT: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Orca_Guide Thanks for reminding me

Also useful:
* Siege Warfare 5 = 10% more shield.
* Siege Warfare Specialist 5 = Shield Harmonizing II link (18% increased shield resists).
* Amour Warfare 5 = 10% more armour.
* Information Warfare 5 = 10% further targeting.

Mining implants also require Cybernetics 5

Michi's Mining Augmentation (IIRC -- at least Michi's something or other) - +5% yield, slot 6 or 8
Highwall MX-1005 (I think, can't remember now that they changed the names) + 5% yield, slot 8 or 10

(they don't take the same slot).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Erm... on an Orca pilot?

My Orca pilot:
Slot 6: [miscellaneous]
Slot 7: Zainou 'Gnome' Shield Management SM-705
Slot 8: Inherent Implants 'Noble' Mechanic MC-805 [or Zainou 'Beancounter' Refining RX-804]
Slot 9: Inherent Implants 'Noble' Hull Upgrades HG-1005
Slot 10: Mining Foreman Mindlink

Topic does not match the first post very well. He asks for info on miners too.
Mostly commented to say that alot of your posts in the forums have helped me, thanks for helping!

what' Muchiki said ... I read it as "what do i meed for max mining?" (not just "orca pilot") since the OP also asked about ships/crystals -- really I was trying to expand on what Blake Phosphor listed out, though got called away for a while (and you posted in the interim) Blink

Has anyone ever counted how many times this same questions has been asked on the forums? EVE University has an excellent guide that covers most aspects of orcas, and even the EVE Wiki has an article (outdated, yes, but still *sorta* ok).

a lot -- people are bad at training the "Forum Searching" skill to L1.

Maybe so...but how much information on this game could you google or search the forums for and find outdated information from previous releases? A LOT. I don't blame people for wanting to check for more current information. The experience of other players who have already been down that road is also helpful. There are sometimes things you can learn by asking you can't get from a 'guide' even if it's up to date.

Also...I saw plenty of people who weren't bothered so much they couldn't answer in a civil manner. If it bugs you so much...ignore the post. Problem solved.

To be honest I've more than once done the same thing as the OP. Mostly just because I have Lazy **** trained to Lvl 5. On top of that, as mentioned above, it's hard for a newer player to know what information is recent, and which is outdated. I've come across multiple sources saying very different, and even contradictory things on a topic in the past. As such, posting in the forum for the most recent and relevant information, plus not having to dig for it, seems to me like a very valid approach.

Besides, it gives those of us who are bored out of their minds at work something to pass the day, even if we're repeating ourselves.

Big smile

For the OP, the information presented above is valid and accurate, as a maxed orca pilot myself, I can vouch for all of it.

^This

Note - it only works in NCQA and some of the slower forums. Try asking something that's been asked a million times in GD or F&I, and it won't be as welcome.

This. If you're doing Mining Director and Warfare Link Specialist 5, you may as well get these. If you have a spare remap I'd even say go full cha and get all leadership skills to 5.
