What type of frigate for complexes?

I love running complexes, almost exclusively hi sec atm but there are those few that allow only frigate class ships through the acceleration gates. In your honest opinion, what would be the best type of frigate for running complexes? I was thinking stealth bomber since I might head into low sec occasionally and thought the cloakyness would help in a pvp situation but I'm unsure.

I am gallante and have not used t2 frigates at all. Also be running 99% serpentis sites, 1% Guristas.

Bombers use battleship weapons, these have a hard time hitting the frigates and destroyers you will encounter in those complexes.

I think your best option at the moment is the Incursus, it does mostly hybrid turret damage and has a bonus to active tanking, which helps in PvE. Then aim for the assault ship frigates later down the line in your skill training.

However, if you feel like spending ISKies and have good drone skills, take a look at the Astero.

I used to do ded 3s with an ishkur. It can even do the serp ded 4 if you have full skills (but obviously you risk people overrunning you with a hac that has more dps, though you should also be able to beat them to the loot if they are silly enough to snipe the target).

it doesn't take long to train into an assault frigate.

I tried an alt a while back, and the comet was actually alright at this too

Bomber will get chewed up by elite frigs up close. It can be done, but you need to kite with precision. If pve'ing in a bomber, you can swap out WD for web, may help when things go wrong ...and things will go wrong. Yes they will... Ugh against frigs anyway.

AF FTW. I'm skilled up on Harpy and Hawk (master4+). I'm currently skilling the Vengeance sitting in my hanger (stack of them heap cheap). AF is basically a mini-cruiser. Flies like a frig but hits like a cruiser, and can pop a BS rat with proper SP and fitting - well it can but having an SB to do it with is much-much faster. I get most use out of the Hawk, rockets do quite well. Frigates train fast, well worth it.

I'll add: I fly a nice assorted selection of frigs, cruisers and BS', frigs are the most "fun". And you can make ISK with them too, so quite worth skilling them up and specializing.

+1 AF

Rocket Hawk is my ship of choice for DED 3/10 or smaller. The 5th high slot can fit a probe launcher for an all-in-one high sec combat site runner.

Confirming that indeed, AFs are the way to go for low level DED sites, all of them can do well but if you're Gallente skilled I'd go for the ishkur over the enyo cause the drones give the ishkur a more flexible engagement range. I've even managed to do Guristas DED 4 in a Tristan before with some speed tanking and range kiting, so AFs are definitely capable of doing all the highsec combat sites although a HAC would be much faster for running DED 3-4/10.

Something like
2x BCS II
Shield booster II
2x Calefaction rigs
EM ward amp II
Cap booster II
AB II
4x Rocket launcher II
Sisters core probe launcher
Sister probes
Scourge rage rockets
Cap booster 25's

or

drop one of the BCS's
add cap flux coil II (eh so-so)
cap recharger II
core probe launcher II
save on boosters anyway
Been flying mine the past few hours tonight. A lot of ways to fit it.

Ishkur, Enyo, and Comet can run the 4/10s. The higher ones you might want to contemplate a T3 or HAC.

+1 Assault Frig

There is little that my 5mil SP alt can't easily finish with a Retribution. The Vengeance tanks like a beast, but the Retri pumps out awesome damage with instant ammo swaps. A web and AB in the mids works fine since most AI either bum-rushes you trying to brawl, or is simply slow as heck and easily caught.
