Star map revamp

This one is for the Devs.

I fly a ceptor a fair amount these days. I've noticed that alt-tabbing between dotlan and eve isn't really efficient. There are two main views in eves map which are useful, but a third would be ideal.

Would it be possible to program a jump drive calculator like dotlans into the eve client? Would it be possible to make a dotlan style third map style in the map option the game client?

The issue is that the flow chart works a whole lot better than the pretty little connected dots in the map. While it is true that you can tweak the appearance of the map, the real benefit of the star map is it's statistical data, and not it's directional sense of "this system is connected to that system".

It would help scouts scout and FC's formulate tactics a lot faster if we weren't alt tabbing all of the time.

My final request would be to have dual/multi screen support for the map so it could be open in a separate window and still give you the ability to click between the three map modes, (that being the system map, the star map, and the dotlan style flow chart map), while in game.

Eve is a game of information, and with out a reasonable interface and enough screen real estate to organize it, a lot of the real time decisions made are absolutely horrible. So, a second screen dedicated to in game support of navigation and command seems like a logical step to take.

Anyhow, just a suggestion.

From what you're saying, i'm suspecting you haven't pressed the F11 key ever... or more likely, you haven't been satisfied with what you saw there.

The F11 minimaps could definitely use some love, now that most of the UI elements have been looked over.

They are pretty functional as they are now, but some minor additions would be nice to see, like:

Ranges - The system map is really good aid for DScanning, with the cone indicator for your DScan, yet the cone does not adjust as ranges are adjusted and doesn't represent the actual range on the DScanner.
I guess, that LY ranges could be added on the more "zoomed out" boxes.

Ruler, allowing you to check the distance between two objects, even without being on top of one of them.

Links between constellations - the blue lines, depicting the connections between constellations should act as links, allowing constellations to be swapped faster and with less confusion (some links are really densely packed on the region map)

Ability to expand sideways, so you can see in more details the map.

Well aware of the mini map. It just isn't large enough or legible enough to be of use on the fly.
