So, language barriers notwithstanding, how do I log in to Serenity as an American?

You can't; There is a reason China has game instances only available to the Chinese Residents.

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

I read the dev blog, and soon as I read that the events took place in serenity, I lost interest.

That's another universe. Simple as that. The game mechanics and engine might be the same, tactics might be similar. But that's another place. And has no organic connection to what I experience in here.

It's not my game simple as that.

The RL Chinese legislation might be forcing CCP's hands to operating a separate *shard* in China and I'm not going to argue whether it's right or wrong. I don't care. It's CCPs marketing / corporate decision and I can't simply care less.

Same as this article.

I tried to find something, anything of interest that might spark something in me. I simply couldn't. That is not to say I belittle the efforts & joy & losses of the people playing there, I'm not.

But it's their game, not mine.

and so I fail to grasp the reason behind this devblog. It's not about the shared EVE universe we all live in. It's about a Chinese clone / shard universe. Which has nothing to do with me.

From the devblog

>> 军用馒头 (literal translation “military steamed bun” – don’t ask!)

Maybe this will help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xjU3n_cF1s Steamed buns can be really cool, almost like rock stars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmagwFfx7Js

Shouldn't this be:
TianCity managed to cram almost 400 more players into the system than CCP could.

B-R's numbers weren't limited by the lack of interest from the players. It was the server not letting any more people in.
So the question then becomes, why is a 3rd-party server host better at running CCP's game than CCP themselves?

LMAO the chinese server is not eve its a place for isk farmers, at least they don't have to worry about company infiltration like CCP has in the CSM and CCP .
