No this aint a whine, you got ganked bwahh thread Big smile

Just i feel soloing is becoming a pretty boring, non existant and rather difficult. Targets are not readily available, ive spent hours hunting for stuff sometimes. Then when you do find them they either have friends on the other side of the gate, or they have cynos for caps and bops and you get ganked. Its almost impossible to escape due to people having scrams, webs, neu
ts and jams when getting ganked amongst other things. Unless you have 5 accounts multiboxing is almost not a good hing to be doing.

Just be interesting to hear what people think on this subject

No

Bombing scanners (All Scanners Must Die)

Bombing WH interlopers (See above)

Suicide ganking

Rifter Drifting (still viable)

Escape? Its a bonus tbh

Right, kill the miner/industrial before the "concorded" countdown is over. If that's what you call PvP, then yes, solo PvP is dead

How is it the attackers fault if the defender refuses to defend himself?

By that argument once to web tackle and ECM a target the battle ceases to become PVP

You dont accept a suicide gank as PVP, but instapopping a Scanner boat with a bomb is?

Player(s) versus player(s), or PvP, is a type of multiplayer interactive conflict within a game between two or more live participants. This is in contrast to games where players compete against computer controlled opponents, which is correspondingly referred to as player versus environment (PvE).

Now understanding this definition, two players can engage in "PvP" irregardless of ship types. So yes, suicide ganking is PvP.

'Lemme break out the crayons for ya.

Ummmmm......

Multiplayer. Check.

Interactive. Check.

Conflict. Check.

"Two or more." Check.

Live participants. Check.

So yea, PvP. Check, check, check.

Roll

Seconded. Also, I have a room full of Assault Frigates that would like to have a word with OP.

I was hunting for sick loot, but all I could get my hands on were 50 corpses[:|]..............[:=d]

Oh look mom! There are still people left who don't know what PvP means!

Could someone please explain what "Rifter Drifting" refers to as I haven't seen that before?

My guess would be something like: "take a frigate and roam space until you find target. Called rifter drifting because the rifter used to be the best ship for this back in the day" or similar ?

What you call solo PVP, I call AFK cloaking.

And it's doing just fine. Far from dead.

If you're looking for a serious answer, and I take it you're talking the '1v1 both ships combat fit and ready™" solo PvP then try out Faction Warfare. You will still get blobbed, blueballed, and falcon-alt-ed, but it sill offers more opportunities of your vision of solo pvp then most other areas.

Ok now that nice me is done . . . Predditor hunting Prey is 99.9% of the solo pvp out there (and personally my favorite). With as big as Eve is the likelyhood of two roaming pilots looking to get a gudfite is slim to none.

Ahh, still out there doing dog's work eh?

I need to start doing that again. Maybe I'll solicit the locals to sing songs of my choosing to get me to leave and record it all for........

We (Tri) have a phrase for people that solo pvp. "Frequent visitors to jita".

May ECM ships forever be the answer to the question " is solo pvp a good thing?"

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Honestly I have never had much taste for solo PvP. Now duo PvP.. two people in two different ships and covering the others weaknesses is some of the best fun to have in PvP. Especially when the pilots know each other really well.

Solo PvP is nice and all... but a duo and small gang is where it is at in my opinion, it gives you much more of an experience than solo.

So is solo dead? no..
Is it not common? yes..

Solo PvP takes a lot of patience, hence why its so rare among the EVE community. It is fun and rewarding when it does pay off. Sometimes its enough even if you don't get a kill out of it, but come out on the better side and they have to run. Other times its somewhat amusing to have the tables turned and become the hunted. Lots of times, you got to do a lot of prep work to lay the ground for a single encounter, yet you can't let your own activities become a recognizable pattern.

Often its a complex game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. If you want to win, you got to figure out what they like to choose.

Few people understand the psycology of a highway traffic cop. Your average speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow.
