The Purpose of the ‘Issues, workaround and Localization’ Forum Section

The purpose of the ‘Issues, Workaround and Localization’ section of the forums is to give players a place to ask questions and get help from fellow players. It is also a place where developers can receive information from players and try to identify the causes of problems with their assistance.

Before posting about an issue or asking a question on this forum section it is worth reviewing the following guidelines:

  • Has this issue/question already been discussed? If so then it’s worth adding to the forum thread instead of starting a new one. It’s a good idea to use the ‘Search’ forum tool and the ‘Advanced Search’ option to specify this forum section when searching for a topic.
  • Did the issue arise after an update to the game? If so then check the relevant deployment thread in the EVE Information Portal section of the forums. Your issue may already be known and a workaround posted there.
  • Even if you encounter an issue that seems to be known to the developers then please do take the time to submit a bug report. You can find guidelines on how to submit a good bug report in the Bug Reporting wiki page.

If you are posting in a thread or starting a new one then it’s worth giving as much relevant information as you can.

Such information could include:

  • When the issue started?
  • How frequently does it occur? Can you reproduce the issue by performing specific actions such as jumping through a gate or browsing the in-game market?
  • What operating system you are using.
  • Information about your system that is relevant to the problem. For instance you may wish to mention what graphics card you are using if you are encountering a problem with your display. Or perhaps what security applications you are using if you encounter problems downloading the client.

When an issue arises there is usually a common factor amongst the players it affects. For instance a particular graphics driver version may cause crashes. Don’t be afraid to include a lot of relevant details in your post.
