In his defence, I'm one of the guys he's citing in his comment, as I remember I said almost exactly what he did word-for-word in a thread a week or so back on the subject.

Of course, I'm a nobody, and glad about it, so take my opinion with as much salt as it deserves P

Thats cool. Everyone has their view, and perhaps Im wrong in m reading, but its how I have been seeing things move over the last 5 years.

Of course, it might look different with more experience or from within the party involved.

Goons vs CCP.

We will ally with the goons, then we will get stomped by CCP.

The Next Great War will be:

1) For control of the CSM
2) For control of CCP
3) For control of BlueSec
4) For control of HighSec
5) For control of Wormhole Space
6) For control of LowSec

Choose 3 and start good poasting in GD...

but it could also save the game.

NPC alts have decried nullsec as "done" after every single change in power since 2006. You would think that after ~8 years you guys would have clued in to the fact that saying "It's done now, the map as it is will stay as it is or [leading faction at the time] will expand forever" is a pretty narrow-minded thing to do, but I am losing hope.

I know you all want to feel the schadenfreude of seeing Goonswarm fall, but sadly for you if you want it to happen you need to make it happen, rather than post about how someone else should be doing it.
Goons of old fought an uphill battle against BoB for literal years to change the face of nullsec, but in modern 0.0 a couple of lost timer fights and the grrrGoons alliances get in a panic over their killboard stats and break apart.

There are, bare minimum and deflating for alts, 400,000 non-CFC characters in Eve Online. I'm pretty confident in saying you're being hopelessly short-sighted if you don't think a threat to CFC hegemony can arise from that. They just need to stop:

- Shooting each other in the foot (TEST)
- Shooting themselves in the face and blaming other people (HERO)
- Playing Titanfall / preparing for an alliance tournament for 6months of the year (PL)
- Being weird and whiney and having a glass jaw (BL)
- Bringing a ship other than an interceptor (Morus / Tri / etc)
- Being counter-intuitively bad at Sov (Russians)
- Sit around hoping someone else / CCP come up with a solution

The last one is the biggest fallacy, because there's basically nothing you can change about Eve which won't be advantageous to the more organised group, which the CFC inevitably is. All the cries to "remove jump bridges .. er, nerf all jump thingies .. er make large alliances pay more arbitrarily .. er .. other dumb idea here!" are ridiculously short sighted, and are nothing but a cry for schadenfreude. Small, less-organised groups get screwed over more in all these suggestions.

e: My favourite example of "CCP do this because it will hurt goons!" of recent times is the introduction of the syphon units. Oh, how Eve-O did bleat with joy about how we'd never make any money for all our moons will be covered in them, and grrGoons an blah blah look at those goon tears!
The problem? In every post, the poster was hoping someone else was actually, you know, going to put the effort into making it happen. It still hasn't, and our logistics guys keep towers all but completely free of them. Meanwhile, we organised groups to go and hit enemy moons and a lot of people found they could run them for some time before they were noticed. Most suggested changes by NPC alts fall into two categories:

1 - Requests for negative QOL changes which is really just "grrrrGoons but also all of nullsec, make it harder for them because I can't"
2 - Requests for "help the little guy" changes that could actually better be worked around by a larger more organised group.
eg "nerf jump ranges!" - who would that harm more, the large org who can have a cyno alt in every constellation, or the small group looking for a fight? "Remove jump freighters it makes logistics easy mode!" - who does that hurt, the large org who can defend it's own shipments and easily choke out anyone elses, or the small team who can't possibly take that fight?

"Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Beware of pretty girls in dance halls and parks who may be spies, as well as bicycles, revolvers, uniforms, arms, dead horses, and men lying on roads -- they are not there accidentally." -Soviet infantry manual,

goons v code/new order

the ultimate showdown of high sec v null sec, low sec can just move aside or be crushed between the 2 entities of doom and gloom!
