1. Allow the contracting of drugs, or just have them moved to your hangar (like ammunition loaded into guns is), when creating the contract so that you can contract ships with drugs in them remotely.

2. Allow a contract with a container inside of it to be contracted.

3. Allow more than 200 items stacks to be included in a contract.

4. Give the ability to accept public contracts in a different region.

What about different objects being tradeable via contracts?

(I think of whole POSes or POCOs)
Would that be possible?

If I have a death star and I somehow need to transfer it to someone else, this is a very lengthy and complicated process.
Ok, fine... this creates opportunities to intercept or scam, but... meh.
Maybe I just want to sell the whole thing.

edit:
At least for a POCO it should be possible to wrap some sort of contract around the "Transfer ownership" option.

Another thing:

What about an Item Exchange option where the items are not located in the same station?

I.e.: I want to trade 1000 Tritanium in Jita for 1000 Tritanium in Amarr.
Or an Archon in Sinq Laison for a Naglfar in Lonetrek. Or whatever.

This could help ppl. create banking or "insta-transport" services.
Also you can provide physical securities/collaterals for transactions.

Say: I am notoriously broke, you are my FC and want me to fly in a certain fleet. But you, knowing my reputation, are somewhat hesitant to lend me a ship.
So I could trade a spare ship in a different region as a security for the ship.

I'd love this, so I could go have a nosy round to see who's going to be trading what from where, long before it actually gets on the market.

All has advantages and disadvantages. If you want to pay 10M* for the peek and not get it back (you only get it back when you complete the courier) every time you want to spy on other user's market plans, you are free to do so.

Please please please clean up copy contract or make a bulk contract option (maybe some of the code could be reused for bulk fit :p).

no they don't, that would make jacking undercollateralized contracts way too easy and that's basically the only use

Really? Pampering players who don't know how to use the market? They made their choice to not look up the value of their stuff and put this kind of thing in the open world. And if you undercollateralized your contract by accident, you have plenty of time to cancel it as you don't have to wait 5 minutes like on the market.

This is, in hindsight, certainly 1 use for it but not the only use. Undercollateralized contracts are already easy to find now; this would just create a short lived surge and then all of them are gone.

This pretty much.

Nobody complains about undervalued item exchange contracts! I never understood why we cant look inside courier contracts before accepting, but if market insights is the concern let us return courier contracts if we find out its full of empty containers with a gank ready to go a few jumps away. The risk is extremely one sided towards the hauler and as it stands its a lottery game whether the next contract you accept will turn into a 1.3b freighter + 1-2b collat lossmail in niarja/ uedama.

I see the following happen all the time when searching courier contracts:

1. Enter some parameters and search available contracts.
2. Let's say 18 available courier contracts are found and listed. At the bottom it says "Found 18 contracts".
3. Pick one you like, fly over to that region and accept it. Yay! It was still available and you got it!
4. Run the search again, to see if anything new happened while you were flying over.
5. You now see only 17 contracts listed, and they're the same ones as before except for the one you accepted, BUT IT STILL SAYS "Found 18 contracts" for a few minutes, until the next time the contract system is "refreshed".

Why can't the number at the bottom of the screen match the number of items in the list*?? How hard is that? It just looks amateur.

*this is assuming the list is only 1 page long, I know.

the ability to drag and drop items from other contracts, outstanding or completed, as well as from the market window and other areas to the current contract being made.

For example, if a customer creates a WTB contract to me for certain goods, and then in order to fill that contract, I need to create a second contract to my corporation for those same goods, instead of manually (and painfully) entering each item, I should be able to quickly drag and drop the BUYER WILL GET items from my client's contract right to my corporation contract. Also, I noticed a bug. If I type something into the "Also request items" field, BEFORE entering the quantity, clicking on the quantity field to change it just opens the search results window, clicking okay just adds one of that item to the contract, and it's VERY annoying.

Hello CCP,

Kind greetings from Red Frog Freight! Thanks a lot for looking into the contracts system and possible future contracting update!

Here is the list of proposed changes gathered from our Staff and Pilots. We hope you will find it useful! We have divided the proposals in three categories:

  1. Critical changes:

    • ability to be able to see the content of the private Courier Contract prior to acceptance;
    • ability to contract populated containers within Item-Exchange contracts;
    • Allow more than 200 items stacks to be included in a contract.

  • Important Quality-of-life changes:

    • ability to set up rules for private Courier Contracts that are posted to the Corporation - ie. Contracts with specific collateral / size will get auto-rejected.
    • ability to create task contracts for moving a freighter.
    • there are now so many windows that user needs to go through to create a Contract, maybe it would be possible for the game client to gather all needed data via one window?
    • public contract API
    • Courier Contract delivery time bonus
    • option for a Corp Contract Reward tax
    • ability to set the autopilot destination to the package destination (via selecting and right-clicking it) regardless on which character the package is located;
    • Implement an optional warning upon undock “Your Freighter is leaving with an empty cargo hold!”

  • Lower-priority changes:

    • ability to create a “Contract Template” for frequent use, containing the information that will be auto-filled upon selection;
    • redesign the “Contracts in Progress” window, to contain more data, allowing the Contract in-question to be quickly identified by the pilots doing a lot of them. This is true especially in regards to multiple Contracts leading from and to the same places.

    I will update this thread should we receive more feedback from the pilots :)

    Thanks again for doing this revamp :)

    That, as a bare minimum.

    Also, in regards to normal Item Exchanges; I would like to see how many cubic meters of stuff I have in an Item Exchange without having to rely on 3rd party programs or websites.

    Here is a wish list that I can think of right now.

    1. Summary in front page of the contracts completed since last log in. Allow acknowledgement of notifications. I want this to particularly apply to courier contracts. Make sure this doesn't clear if characters on the same account log in in sequence.
    2. Filters in the "My Contracts" section so you can search for "To" or "From".
    3. Ability for issuer to see contents of a courier contract from the contracts screen whether Outstanding, In Progress or Finished.
    4. A quantity count of items in a contract displayed somewhere.
    5. A value estimation of goods in contract displayed in the screen where you set price or collateral.

    Here's another possibility: If it's a corp contract, and the ships were fitted using the ability to equip a ship from a saved corp fitting, the contract lists the ships by their name in corp fittings:

    I once had an issue where I set a 900k m3 filter for courier contracts. That still allowed for a 900,000.01 m3 contract to be shown. Pls. don't round off before filtering.

    I would like to see item exchange contracts list clearly what you're getting and what you're giving them. The view should be something side-by-side where ISK and PLEX is always presented at the top.

    Fitted ships should be displayed in an easily comprehensible way with their fitted modules located beneath them and their various cargo contents located under the ship in question. It would also be nice if ships are not currently fit validly, a warning should appear.

    Also please allow me to specify one object from the contract to be in the title so it shows something like this.

    Gnosis (assembled) + multiple items.

    I am violently opposed to any idea of making courier contact contents visible in advance.

    The ability to create contract traps is a feature not a bug.
