- Make dragging corp names into private recipient field work like it does with character names?
- Make the 'Search By' dropdown setting for the same field remember the last used option?

I recently passed 3000 contracts created as part of my refining service (AstralRefining.net). I always drag character names into said field, and if I could choose "Only exact phrase" as default search, I would be able to skip the common popup showing multiple hits, removing 2 unnecessary clicks.

Since you mentioned scamming: removing the ability to edit links to contracts (to ensure that the link text is in agreement with the actual contract) would go a long way towards making a contract scammer's job harder.

A couple things that come to mind:

1) Re-sizing the windows for what's in the contract and what items you have to "pay" - right now those windows are too tiny.
2) I'd also like to be able to see if a contract has a unpackaged container inside. Not able to actually see inside the can, but a notice (like how it displays if the route is in low/null). Nothing more annoying than accepting a contract to ship something out, trade to my high sec hauler and then find out I can't because the contract has a can in it. Heh.

A few things I would consider:

1) Forbid containers in courier contracts
2) Multi-contract function, instead of the current copy function, so you can spew out like 10+ identical contracts at once.
3) Higher contract cap, with possibly additional skills. A few dozen isn't really enough for BPO / BPC producers, or anyone using contracts really.
4) Allow more outstanding contracts to a corporation. Contract ships are closing in on a thousand all the time. I myself alone often have 400+
5) To go along with a multi-contract function, allow to split stacks into stacks of X unit and/or do X amount of fitted ship.

Small suggestion:

courier contract destination fields don't co-operate with drag and drop. It would be really useful if I could drag a station link or a bookmark into the courier contract destination field.

Top of the list of things to change in contracts are..

  • Courier contracts need to be boosted regarding number of contracts. Easiest way to do that would be to fix corporate contracts, so the public number is the same as the internal number. Effectively making it possible to have 400 contracts public on behalf of corp..

  • The current limitations to orders and contracts all hail back to an age where servers would die from to much flooding, this is no longer the case.. It is mainly injections and changes that are a load issue, so boosting limitation would help this a lot.

Also a proper ad hoc risk based courier activity will need a lot more seeded contracts, that is less likely when there is a limitation, meaning people will have to ponder a lot more on priorities..

In the sorting on couriers there should be columns to list and sort by isk/m3 and isk/m3/jump, thus making it possible to optimize hauling better.. This would make the collateral a part of the selection process when picking up couriers.

Generally the current courier contracts need to be fixed to make it a proper integrated part of everyday gameplay, and not a complicated meta aspect.

Add to this a feature that advice players when docking at a station, that a courier is available fitting the current ship cargo. These auto warnings would be set client side as a simple search local contracts..

  • It would be really useful if there was though given to a proper FUTURES trading and similar accepting contracts as orders to be filled. So you do not need to have the thing in the WTB, but can claim the contract and fill it within the set timeframe.

prolly some of it is allready mentioned in the past 26 pages somewhere .. but to give this topic a friendly bump ..

    * auction contracts get flagged as "in progress" once the time ends and u have to clicky on the "get items" or "get isk" button as atm it is outstanding once the auction ends and u claim the items on your side untill the other side claims the ISK the contracts will stick around in your Outstanding list clutterin it up for months when u have loads contracts up there.

*some bonus system (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=442137) this topic has some ideas.
imo something like missions "deliver in 30min, 1h, 2h, 3h, 5h, or 12h for xx bonus " max bonus limited to 10% of reward to keep peapole abusing and getting free deliveries if hauler wont make it in time,
    * blacklist - contracts CANT be accsepted by peapole you list there.

    * seperate item exchange contracts count from couriers .. new skill to change the max for character and corp.

    * give more reasons to bump up Corporation management skills -- empire control skill and corporation contracting as a requirement for a new skill " Alliance contracting" allowing setting up more contracts only seen by your alliance/ militia without this skill u can set up a small number of contracts only seen by said partyes.

    * unlisted contracts - contracts only seen when u look the character issued contracts or when linked, they wont show up when u just look for items in the public listing.

    * ui fixes in the contracts Start page -- format "backround data" u always see like in market.. limits and stuff ..

your contracts remaining xx out of xx
corporation contracts issued by you remaining : xx out of xx
total corporation contracts remaining xx out of 500
    Misc info
    ignored x out of 1000
    blacklisted x out of 1000
    ---
atm the ignore list is there like a new notification - one that never goes away (unless u un-ignore) annoys me every time i open it for some reason. even has the "!" icon there .. but imo it should be backround data like the limits ..
*** add the remove/add column options for all the pages.

    * My contracts page
selecting 3rd party name and looking for outstanding contracts will give u error "You are not allowed to view contracts by others than yourself or your corporation that are currently in progress or outstanding."
but then looking up hes name in "available contracts" will show the outstanding contracts .. logical the "in progress" contract wont show up for 3rd partyes, but outsdaning should show up in the listing as it does in the other tab.

*also "my contracts" .. limit it to only sorting your contracs then dublicate the tab for corp contracts and new tab where u can look up 3rd party contracts, finished and outstanding then sort em by type and status well .. short just strip the My contracts page into 3 tabs. then available contracts should be named to "public contracts"

prolly some more ideas on my mind for next bump .. :)

Import, export and share of balck lists and white lists, favorites etc would be essential in a boost to the contract system. Maybe one of the most useful ones, since it could effectively act a lot like earlier discussed storefronts. This especially the case if they could be shared from evegate/bio, chat channels MOTD etc a lot like overview settings.

You would then basically be able to access an instant filter for say an entire Alliance, or group of affiliates, or specialist collated contract lists by types, and issuers..

If and when adding boosts to potential outstanding contracts, couriers etc.. It might be a good idea to consider range and time delay, so you get data from further away later and actually have a sort of fog of war like the market.. Its slightly upside down that exchange market is fog of war and contracts are not.

I'm glad to hear you've been looking at the contract system for a couple of years.

I have a few suggestions regarding courier contracts:

    * When creating courier contracts you have to type the destination station manually and search - it would be nice if you could drag'n'drop from a bookmark, or the picture on a station "show info" window.

    * It would be nice if we could have more control over courier contract completion times. If one needs a replacement ship urgently for PVP, or needs materials to set off a production line, the minimum delay of 24 hours is a long time to wait. It would be great if one could specify shorter delivery times - perhaps a 1 hour minimum.

    * If delivery times as low as 1 hour is not feasible for gameplay or technical reasons, another approach could be to do what some people from the Haulers Channel have for a long time been requesting: the ability to add "fast delivery bonuses", where if the contract is delivered in the next 30m, 1h, etc an additional reward can be paid, on top of the existing contract reward. (similar to how missions often have a fast completion bonus).

    * When a courier contract is in progress its not possible for me to see what I sent. It would make sense if I could view the contents of my own contracts while they were in progress, without having to wait until delivery.

    * It would be really handy if I could send courier contracts to a POS. Now I know that POS are on their way out, so when citadels come, I would really like to be able to send courier contracts to all sizes of citadels.

Also, the ability to have contracts created from different corp divisions, be delivered to a separate market deliveries window.

If you have ever tried region and station trading within the same corp, you'll know what i mean, its a complete nightmare and currently i personally see no use for the divisions without this feature.

sorry if its off topic, but it is a direct result of the current contract mechanic.

    cheers rita o/

Better yet, end double-bagging altogether by letting couriers (and cargo scanners) peek inside nested containers.

CREST allows fittings prepared outside the game client to be injected into the game.

Can we do the same with WTS and Courier contracts?

The contracts imported into the game in such way should be shown as 'waiting for authorisation' in the contract interface, and each has to be manually ok'ed by the player in game while logged on, so that the final step of a contract creation process itself is done inside the game (to prevent bot spamming)

Basically: let us have the option to do the first 3~4 pages of contract creation process using APIs.

Indeed.. Also maybe some thought on reducing the destruction chance on dropped cans, so there is a difference..

It can even be argued that secure cans should/could be inaccessible for up to 4 hours, and be a lot more "costly" thus creating an emerging ransom game, and negotiation over loot.

So when going over the contents of a contract to determine its value often one must open additional contracts to see what other items or selling for. Fitted ships and bpc's are two examples of this. Trouble is only one contract at a time can be open. This makes it a small hassle to maneuver around when looking at contracts.

The ability to have not only more than one contract open at a time but for that matter have more than one contract search window open at a time would fix a lot of these tedious little things.
