Wormholes

The last time I played eve, exploration had just been introduced, and even though it was super time consuming, I was good at it and I found it enjoyable.

Now I have returned and I have spent the last month trying to get up to speed with all that has changed over the years.
Some of it is great... Some of it is not...

But what I don't quite understand is why people are buying and selling wormholes?

I see them all over the place and they seem quite common. So why do people buy them? What are people looking for when they want to buy a WH location?

Is it worth my time to catalog the ones I find and try to sell them?

Because it is easier to buy the location from someone who found an empty one with the stats you are looking for than find it yourself.

1. The vast majority of WH's you will find in HS for example are k162's. These are wormholes that originated from inside the WH system. As such they are generaly already occupied.

2. A fair number of WH systems are already occupied, so you can spend some time finding an empty one.

3. Finding a specific type of one can be time consuming. For example, if you wanted to find an empty C3 WH to live in, you could put a scan alt in an existing C2/C3/HS WH. Every day you will get a new C3 to scan down (unless the residents roll the static more often). So basically you get one chance per day to check out a new C3 and hope it is the type you are looking for AND empty.

Although it doesn't fit what you are doing I don't think, another reason people sell wormholes is that they have existing assets in there they don't want to or can't move out and sell. Examples would be POCO's, Capital ships that were built inside because of mass limits.

people buy WHs because theyre very lazy.
people sell WHs because EVE is full of very lazy people.

i'm really not going to scan for days/weeks to find that type of hole i'm looking for, i'll just pay 250m-1b for that specific hole
